Popped in for a family lunch on Sunday..... we were a party of 7 and all ordered different food. All the meals arrived together, with every plate piping hot and perfectly presented. The food is of excellent quality, all freshly made. I wanted Cheese and onion pie, and although they had none of their usual ones left, they made up a special version in a pie dish with a flaky pastry top for me - it was fabulous (maybe this should be on the menu as a regular?) ! Thoroughly recommended �
We’ve had some great meals here this year. The food is freshly prepared with quality ingredients (locally sourced meats etc). The staff are really friendly and can’t do enough for you. They’re child friendly and even point our kiddies in the direction of their board games/colouring books if they can tell that they’re looking for something to do. We love catching up with friends and family here especially since the recent refurbishment. We had a family meal here yesterday and were especially impressed with the chef when he made our son a dessert especially for him from scratch just because he fancied something with lemon. My wife and I just had quite possibly the best fish and chips i have ever tasted( home made batter and real chips) good service with a smile. This lovely pub is also dog friendly. Highly recommended
The food is excellent the 12 dishes of the tapas were all different and tasty in the photo is 2 full tapas meals for 4 people and we were full.

It's a warm & cosy friendly place. We went early Friday evening & the food was excellent,served by lovely staff. We had fish & chips & gammon. Followed by coffee & mince pies. Yummy. We will be going back again soon.x
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. All the staff are fab and so welcoming, the chef is excellent from halloumi fries to sunday roast, The halloumi fries are the best I've ever had. One of my fave little pubs now!

Stop over for lunch before retuning home on a icey Sunday in December 2022. Food was outstanding, loved the logburner on icy day, very homely and comforting. Would highly recommend this awesome pub.
Fantastic fresh food. Went for tea and had the shin beef with mash and veg and a couple of pints of Thwaites Original. Cannot complain at all. Warm and friendly welcome by Darren. Keep up the great work. Will be back soon. Cheers 🍺
Five of us went for lunch today at the Golden Lion the food was absolutely amazing and the lady serving us was extremely helpful and courteous 10 out of 10 golden lion we will definitely be coming back again soon xx
