This is a friendly, Grade II listed local pub. Serves great home cooked food done to order - so don't expect to get served in 5 minutes. Its about relaxing and sample the real ale. Great atmosphere.

Had Sunday dinner here, two adults and two children its honestly the best Sunday dinner I've had for a very long time, proper roast potatoes, loads of meat. vegetables which are actually fresh. the gravy was gorgeous! the atmosphere is cute, quirky and relaxing. The people here are lovely and friendly. definitely worth a visit.
We were staying at Finlake Holiday Park and decided to go to the nearest village for food. Highly recommend Bishop Lacey for families and couples.
Lovely warm welcome, great selection of food, the food was lovely and all the curries were homemade. The waiter was very attentive.
We popped in there the following night just for a drink and were once again given a friendly welcome .
This place was lovely. A great atmosphere, a brilliant range of drinks at reasonable prices and the food was 'home cooked' and very flavourful. I would highly recommend the curries! The staff were so helpful and very friendly! Fantastic covid restrictions in place. Will definitely be visiting again!
Friendly barkeeper, good food, nice place!
Really lovely Pub. Food was excellent dispite a bit of a long wait, this was only down to an issue the pub could not control. The staff were very apologetic about the delay and very friendly. Good choice of beers and ales, would definately come back again. Such a welcoming place to stop and chill out.
Fantastic place. Dog friendly. Great food. Warm helpful staff. What more could you want?.
This is a PROPER pub with really good homemade food and Very friendly landlady. Everything a pub should be. Just had a fabulous pint of Eddystone and the special lamb lunch (great value at 8.95) with my wife. Couldn't recommend this pub enough. One tiny suggestion: looks a bit tired: could do with a tickle here and there ...
We have stopped here 3 times on way to Exeter.
Landlord is hospitable Pub is full of character
Food is always hot and fresh and reasonably .priced. Ladies toilets and mirrors cleanest I've ever seen in a pub
This time we had Hammond and chips and sausage egg and chips.
All were. tast
