We found this gorgeous cafe on the way home from a short break to Finlake Holiday Park. Mixed reviews here, but I can tell you this, they all made us feel very welcome - especially Snoopy and Bess!
Food is exceptional and cooked to order - fantastic breakfast especially the black pudding for me! They have a lovely spaniel whom made our dogs welcome and came and sat with us whilst we ate. We also found out that the owners are originally from the East Midlands as we are.
The only downside - we found it on our (long way) home!
Completely recommend to all - especially if you don't mind dogs.
I've always been a fan of family run restaurants so when we needed to have breakfast while we were on holiday we chose Harvey's and we were not disappointed.
Called ahead to reserve a table as we were a party 8 and we got there on time.
The 2 lovely ladies (sorry I did not catch your names) were absolutely amazing. Took the time to take our various orders (there are multiple ways to order the same breakfast, trust me!) and the food and hot drinks came promptly. Even our 4 kids in tow had a great time.
Atmosphere was quite homely and though the weather was grey and wet, it did not detract from the ambience of the place..
And I have to say, one of the best breakfasts we have had in a while.
Thank you so much.
Local cafe with fabulous owners. Always a friendly welcome. We usually have a great breakfast, but recently due to lockdown, we have had takeaway bacon baguettes and lattes. They also cater for my coeliac husband and he gets gluten free rolls with his bacon. A fabulous treat!
Also the homemade cakes and fruit scones are really moorish.
My new go-to! The cafe is very homely inside, the staff are lovely and friendly and the food is fantastic. They also have a gorgeous spaniel who is the cherry on top of my visits to Harveys! I usually get take away but sit and wait for it to be prepared which i struggle with in lots of places due to noise and bright lighting, but Harvey’s is a really nice place to be
Good food and service but a bit noisy due to a trendy couple who seemed determined to impress the whole town with their knowledge.
Came with my friend for a coffee and a slice of cake. We were served by a lovely lady who was very attentive. The hot beverages were a really good standard and the cake was extremely delicious! We sat towards the back on the sofa’s and felt relaxed and welcome. Cant wait for the weather to be better to sit in the outside area.
Such a lovely cafe, absolutely lovely staff and the food and coffee is amazing. Best ploughams I've ever had and always feel so welcome. So recommend!
Lovely old fashioned, independent cafe and deli. Food is delicious! and reasonably priced. Staff are friendly. Choice of indoor or garden. Car park just behind the cafe.
If you don’t give it a try, then you’re living life all wrong ;-)
Superlative food and a warm welcome is always comforting. The cakes are home made with quality and care. Never tasted cake like it. The full English is made fresh to order with toast browned to your own specification, I like mine on the black side of charcoal although the bread is exquisite. Cheese on toast features a cheddar cheese which is rich and full bodied, a real treat! There is a selection of teas and fresh coffee that tastes devine. Coleslaw is freshly made with what tastes like a wee touch of heaven and compliments the hand cut ham sandwiches or even bacon with zingy cherry tomatoes, that's a real experience. If you are looking for a kind relaxing atmosphere to take a break or meet friends and chat this is the place to stop. Dog friendly it is a homely atmosphere at Harveys, I can not sing their praises highly enough. They have my vote!
While on a visit to our nephew's place in Chudleigh. He treated us to tea at Harvey's. It was delicious! Everyone was so very friendly. Atmosphere was lovely.
