We popped in today because we wanted a big late breakfast and couldn't get it in the café's nearby so we literally popped in on the off chance they may do something. It was a fantastic full English breakfast for me and an equally good small breakfast for my wife. It was quiet but I have no idea why as we would eat here again.

Absolutely superb food and drinks (the vegetable Wellington being one of the best my partners ever eaten!) In a lovely setting served by humble yet amazing staff. A round of applause to the barmaid and the chef who really couldn't have done more to make our visit memorable 😀

Went there ysesterday for a quick bite of lunch; just ordered the sandwich (bacon, brie and cranberry)... well, didn't any dinner after that! Fantastic food, good service, everything cooked to perfection. Great value for money. Understand they have a new chef now; itshows. Can't wait to go back for the Sunday Roast! 10/10 all day long!

Stopped for lunch. Had a sandwich which came with a choice of chips or crisps (Doritos). I opted for chips, and they were the best I've ever had. More like deep fried potatoes, they were lightly crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Not cheap, but worth it. Pleasant Staff.

Fab roast and amazing service. There was a large group of 25 of us who were looking for somewhere to go to for a roast last minute without a booking. We called and they were more than happy to accommodate and had set out a whole room for us without much notice. Was very appreciated by all of us and the atmosphere was great. Really brilliant end to a weekend, cannot recommend more!

We had a great vegetarian lunch here this weekend: a huge squidgy pretzel bun stuffed with chargrilled halloumi cheese, fresh hummus, sundried tomatoes with a side salad and skin-on chips. As usual, I had some dietary restrictions to navigate, and the bar staff and chef were really helpful. My co-diner has just turned vegetarian and this meal was a great example for her of how tasty meat-free or fish-free options can be. All the staff politely asked if there was anything else we needed, and if we enjoyed our meal. Our answers were "No, we have everything we need" and "Yes, it tasted great!". There's a modern, bright, warm and airy big room at the back of the pub which I can imagine would be great for weddings or formal events too.

Just reopened after nearly two years, popped in for a Sunday roast and was very pleased with the food and service. Great menu and value for money. George and the team very welcoming and attentive. The chef also introduced himself and asked how the food was - a nice touch. Great beers and ales on offer. Highly recommended and I wish the new management/owners all the best in their new venture. Cheers!!

Checked the website as my friend always stays at the Bell and someone told me all the accomodation outside was boarded up. Wanted to see if it was going to be open for business anytime soon,or at all. It's a great place for a meal, not the cheapest in Clare but you do get what you pay for. Lovely atmosphere and right on market place too. Parking can be a bit tight, especially if you have a slightly larger car like my friends do. Lovely charismatic building in one of the nicest little towns in East Anglia.

Just had a fantastic Sunday Roast. Excellent value. Would definitely come again. Desert was fab too!! Since posting this, the ownership of the Bell has changed, and so has the menu. The new owners no longer do a traditional Sunday roast. It is a carvery. Have not eaten there since changed hands. So please don't base review on current owners. Having just been back the once for a drink, since it changed hands, would say that the atmosphere is no longer the same, which is a shame.

Nice pub with friendly staff and a cosy atmosphere. We're very accommodating when we didn't want a hot meal and made us some sandwiches, thank you. Will definitely visit again the next time we are in Clare.
