The Windmill Tavern is a wonderful place to eat. Great choice of dishes for all the family which is fresh and cooked to order. Service is also great with very helpful staff. The windmill tavern itself is a wonderful building off the beaten track, quiet location with ample parking. The interior is very nice and has and been designed to. Offer a warm cost atmosphere.

Had a lovely meal here whilst staying nearby. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and service was speedy. And they have a play area outside for children. Would definitely recommend.

Very clean and comfortable pub. Nicely decorated with nice atmosphere and comfortable seating. Plenty of room between tables. The service was quick and friendly. Good menu, not expensive, food was good, well cooked and hot. For beer drinkers very good cask beer. 3 pound a pint.

Staying close by, had a beautiful gammon steak, with salad and vegetables. Happy to adapt meal to Keto diet and vinegar allergy. Helpful and friendly staff. Would highly recommend a visit, great value for money. Good Real Ale. Well organised/spaced for Covid restrictions.

Very helpful the manager went out of his way to get me a couple of coffees with cream. When at a wake there was instant coffee on tap but we needed to have cream for a diet we were on.. Thank you for making our visit great.

Had a lovely Sunday carvery here last week. Lovely decor and really lovely food ( thats saying something because im a good cook and hard to please) The meat was top quality and so tender, all the veg was beautiful. We also had starters and they were lovely too. Nice little touches like the cutlery was really snazzy, the starters were plated up very nicely, great staff. I would of given it 5 stars but the atmosphere wasn't the cosy pub feel you would expect, it has always been that way so I think it's just the building it's in. It was the day time but maybe some lower lightning and music would help. Don't let that put you off though, the food is well worth it. Just book before you go as it's a busy place. They also do carvery on Friday Saturday and Sunday too.

Had a great light lunch last weekend at a very reasonable price. I had the cajun beefburger with blue cheese and it was hot and tasty with nice chips and a side salad. My wife had the baked potato with prawns in Marie Rose sauce. £12.00 for the two dishes. Add a pint of tasty York beer and a large glass of Pinot Grigio, £20 all in was very good value for money. We'll definitely be visiting again

we would like to take the opportunity to report on, and to thank all the Staff at the Windmill Tavern, for the exceptional service they provide during our wedding celebrations on the 02nd June 2017. Their good humored and professional response to what was in itself a very late notice requirement for multi-event reception and evening function was simply magnificent. Indeed, their flexibility in responding to the even later emergent requirement changes that arose as late as the day before the wedding, and in coping with the schedule delays on the day its self, represent what can only be considered as an exception customer focused delivery ethos. Friendly, cheerful and quick to smile your staff on the day took everything in their stride and simply delivered a 1st Class Service for us. Not only was the quality of the food / silver-service exceptional but the assistance offered by both the manager and chef ensured that our special day was just a little bit more special. In particular, the Chef's advice on Wedding planning matters in general, her recommendation of a talented singer, and her identification of a suitable table decorating service was simply amazing. So to precis; the Windmill Tavern delivered under difficult requirements and conditions an exceptional Service resulting in an exceptionally satisfied customer. We would have no difficulty whatsoever in highly recommending you to other couples and would be grateful if you could note our satisfaction and pass on our sincere thanks to all involved. Melanie and David Evans
