I used to come here with my mum and dad when I was a little girl who loved the place. Since I've moved to the Medway I've been back a few times and each time the food and staff have been exceptional. My daughter has a gluten intolerance and it was do nice that she could eat here too. She still raves about the lemon drizzle cake and clotted cream! The food is to die for and the menu is always changing but always beautifully homecooked with fresh ingredients and reasonably priced too. No matter how busy the standard of the food and staff doesn't drop. I've brought family and friends here who love it and bring their friends and family. Can't recommend this charming friendly little place enough.

Excellent haddock and chips and mushy peas! Judy, who has Coeliac disease, was delighted with her gluten free version of the above! Napa Valley Pinot Noir was also excellent. Nice place with friendly, helpful staff. We will visit it again.

This was the best meal I have ever had. The staff could not do enough for us. We had 2 absolutely amazing courses and as a Coeliac I was able to eat!! This is a rare occurance! My non Coeliac husband was able to eat regular wheat food too, so there is something for everyone. We are planning to return in 2 days with the rest of the family. The restaurant also caters for fussy little junior guests too. Best restaurant ever.

We had our wedding meal and reception at The Leather Bottle on 9/12/17. There had been a lot of preparation in the run up to this but we always felt confident our special day was in good hands. The menu was beautiful and able to accommodate various quirks and allergies in our requirements. The dining/reception rooms were beautifully decorated with our creations plus their own Christmas decorations. The meal was amazing - sumptuous to eat and look at as well as being good sized portions. We all stayed overnight in lovely sized comfy rooms which were traditional yet modern and breakfast the next morning was plentiful and delicious. The service from the staff was second to none and hence a massive thank you to Sue, Sarah, Rea and the team for making our day so special. Looking forward to our Christmas Dinner when we return from honeymoon!

Stopped here yesterday with several friends after spending the day walking in the area. We were to end the day here and have a meal. A great welcome and the pre-arranged meal turned up on time and it was superb. Lovely food served with a smile and very helpful staff. My first time here myself and i was very impressed. Would i recommend the Leather Bottle to my friends? Absolutly. Thanks everyone for ending our day in fine stile.

Had a lovely lunch today with family. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and my husband was really pleased with how much choice he had of gluten free items and said it was all delicious! Next time we are visiting family we will definitely be making a special trip for lunch or dinner.

Had a lovely meal family meal here. I had messaged to ask about a vegan meal option, and tbh I expected a salad, but was very pleasantly surprised by the roasted butternut squash and roasted vegetables I was offered. All our meals were delicious, thanks!

Enjoyed a pint or two here. Good atmosphere. For once not dominated by “that table is reserved for people who are eating”. Friendlier reception than I have had in the past. It’s an incredibly atmospheric pace oozing with history. Just sometimes they forget that deprivation is built on the people who pay their money now, not by the fact the Dickens enjoyed it a long time ago. Not this time. Was a really welcoming experience. Hope they continue to deliver like this.

Been coming here for years, lovely old pub and a quiet village. Great atmosphere and food was good But........ Please bring back all the proper pub grub, good menu for a evening meal but lunch time you might want something lighter. I.e the nice sandwiches you used to do.

Lovely pub, very rustic inside. Lots of history attached to it. Nice garden area and plenty of car parking. Drinks reasonably priced and food prices seemed on par with other pubs I've visited. Didn't eat here today but what we saw coming out looked good and plentiful.

You don't find many traditional pubs these days. Reasonable closing times, lovely bedroom we got to stay in. Didn't have dinner there just breakfast, I'm fussy so I'm not even commenting on that as I'm the issue not the pub, I would be happy with a plate of chips and beans for breakfast lol, but it is a good old fashioned traditional pub

As always the Leather Bottle is a great place the service is good and the food is usually great, however the sunday roast this time was quite tough. This won't necessarily stop us going again.

I hadn't been to the Leather Bottle for a meal for some years. The menu appeared to be completely different, and I struggled to find something I wanted to eat, but both my companion and I settled for the chicken and bacon Caesar salad, which was excellent. Prices are quite high, but, on this occasion, acceptable. I regret the disappearance of baguettes, which were a highlight of the "lighter" side of the menu, but understand that too many were being wasted, hence the change. Other options are available, but not to my taste, and the couple of sandwich options are priced well above value.
