I used to come here with my mum and dad when I was a little girl who loved the place. Since I've moved to the Medway I've been back a few times and each time the food and staff have been exceptional. My daughter has a gluten intolerance and it was do nice that she could eat here too. She still raves about the lemon drizzle cake and clotted cream! The food is to die for and the menu is always changing but always beautifully homecooked with fresh ingredients and reasonably priced too. No matter how busy the standard of the food and staff doesn't drop. I've brought family and friends here who love it and bring their friends and family. Can't recommend this charming friendly little place enough.
Excellent haddock and chips and mushy peas! Judy, who has Coeliac disease, was delighted with her gluten free version of the above! Napa Valley Pinot Noir was also excellent. Nice place with friendly, helpful staff. We will visit it again.
Enjoyed a pint or two here. Good atmosphere. For once not dominated by “that table is reserved for people who are eating”. Friendlier reception than I have had in the past.
It’s an incredibly atmospheric pace oozing with history. Just sometimes they forget that deprivation is built on the people who pay their money now, not by the fact the Dickens enjoyed it a long time ago.
Not this time. Was a really welcoming experience. Hope they continue to deliver like this.
Been coming here for years, lovely old pub and a quiet village.
Great atmosphere and food was good
But........
Please bring back all the proper pub grub, good menu for a evening meal but lunch time you might want something lighter.
I.e the nice sandwiches you used to do.
Lovely pub, very rustic inside. Lots of history attached to it. Nice garden area and plenty of car parking. Drinks reasonably priced and food prices seemed on par with other pubs I've visited. Didn't eat here today but what we saw coming out looked good and plentiful.
You don't find many traditional pubs these days. Reasonable closing times, lovely bedroom we got to stay in. Didn't have dinner there just breakfast, I'm fussy so I'm not even commenting on that as I'm the issue not the pub, I would be happy with a plate of chips and beans for breakfast lol, but it is a good old fashioned traditional pub
A beautiful building, Very friendly staff. The breakfast was good and a great selection of food for lunch and dinner. A nice garden area to enjoy a drink or two. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Excellent, had a very nice meal, double burger, and chips and a pint of Guinness. Very good service, we were looked after by a team of very efficient ladies. This was the first time we had visited the Leather Bottle.
We had lunch here, a long overdue visit. Meal served by friendly staff, good selection of vegetables that weren't overcooked. All in all a very pleasant meal
Great pub with friendly, helpful staff. They were having a BBQ and I got served one of the biggest burgers I've ever had. Highly recommended.
Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay here. I've been 3 times for lunch now as the food is delicious. I have always had good service.
Lovely country pub. Great service. Food and drinks are excellent. Beautiful location. Can't wait to come back.
