This pub was a whitstle-stop on our way to Joules Brewery. What a lovely pub! Excellent selection of real ales. "Moon Madness" was excellent but I have to recommend the "Captain Pigwash" :) Friendly staff and the olde-worlde ambiance just went on and on! I will make a point of re-visiting whenever I am in the area! :)
Visiting family..so went there for sunday dinner. The staff were excellent..very attentive and friendly. The food was well priced and portion sizes good. The place has been refurbished to a comfortable welcoming pub..
Really nice pub and setting, very nicely done out. Great selection of Joules draught, and decent menu. Personally, the food was good but not great. I had the buttermilk chicken burger which I was expecting to be chicken breast but was some gnarled up bit of chicken that was far smaller than the bun. Fries were disappointingly average too.
Decent sized car park to the rear and a nice large beer court.
First time visiting this place whilst in the area to see a friend, and I will definitely make the effort to be back again and again! The food is amazing and the floor staff are very knowledgeable! I think Kate was our server for the evening, couldn’t fault the service at all! Dying to come back already!!
Visited on a recommendation. The beer courtyard was busy but not packed. I ordered the buttermilk chicken sandwich. The bar staff were polite, but the female member of staff chose to ignore me waiting and served someone who she clearly knew before me.
The sandwich arrived with a weird tasting dressing. The chicken itself was a chicken thigh that was tough in the same places and almost pink in others. The dressing was almost non-existent, and who puts gherkins on a chicken sandwich!!
However, the waitress who cleared my table - Myah (hope I spelt that correct) was a delight. Warm smile, asked how the food was, and apologised on behalf of the restaurant.
Great place to eat, service and food excellent, big car park out back
Lovely place to sit, eat and chill. The new outside area is lovely with plenty of room to sit under cover if the weather turns. We had the lamb flatbread and chicken burger which were so nice. Not your run of the mill pub food. Saw the pizzas coming out and they looked lovely too.
Awesome experience, food was incredible. Andy and Ren on the bar very personable and advised us on different drink options. Kate the manager was attentive and nothing was too much trouble for her even though the pub was very busy. Everything seemed to run like a well oiled machine. Very impressed
Came here for a meal with some friends on a Friday evening. It was busy inside and outside. Staff were friendly and helped with any questions we had re drinks and food. The food was delicious, I had pizza and a side of chips. They are dog friendly as well so we could bring our furry friend along too.
I visited Codsall to see a friend and this place was recommended to me. I have to say I am impressed. The food was lovely and all the staff we spoke to were amazing. Ella was really friendly and welcoming and our waiter for the night was Samir. He was so friendly and helpful throughout the night. Will definitely be returning when I visit Codsall again.
Great pub with loads of space but still a few cosier corners, and a good selection of ales. Food was also very good, with a variety of pub staples both warm and cold, coming in fairly hefty portions! There's also a good amount of outside seating.
Nice pub decor a bit off the wall which I like but could do with a good clean and too many flies buzzing around for me to have any food. But definitely worth a visit.
