Sunday roast is very good value (£10 for a beef one) compared to pubs like Greene King ones. Atmosphere is cosy. Lovely wooden beams. Traditional English food. Steak and ale pies etc. They can't do coffees though, but it IS English. Americano, espresso, flat whites, all very weak. But you don't go there for the coffee, so all good. Great staff, very good turn around times and professional. Could probably do with nice lighting (lamps / wall lamps) upstairs but it's still nice anyway.

Came here in a party of 7 to celebrate my 30th birthday with the grandparents, and it’s true what they say about the quality of the breakfasts! Absolutely great quality, locally sourced meat and produce, cooked perfectly by Lou and Pete, who even came out to say happy birthday, which was a really nice touch! The waiting staff were amazing and really attentive for such a large table for breakfast, so thank you to Maria, Ella, Tia and Charlotte. Highly recommend Timbers to anyone!

Me and my partner came here for the first last week and we’re so impressed with how good the food tasted and how lovely all the staff were. We came for breakfast and the portions were really good and the food was just really tasty. We were both surprised how little the bill was considering the quality of the meal and you could tell it was all freshly done. Will definitely be back soon!

There where 7 of us booked in for breakfast to celebrate my sons 30th birthday. We all had a wonderful breakfast the food was fantastic especially the sausages!! All the food arrived together and was lovely and hot. Special thanks goes to Maria and chef Lou who made my son feel really special on his birthday. The trial waitress Charlotte was also very helpful and I hope you keep her on as I’m sure she will be a credit to your already great team.

I was given a voucher as a gift for afternoon tea at Timbers. Myself and my best friend had a lovely time. There was a good selection of sandwiches and the cakes and scones were delicious. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and there was a very welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant. Thank you Tia, Lou, Nick and Maria for looking after us so well! We will definitely return and will recommend to family and friends.

Absolutely loved eating here. I happened to order for delivery from them and realised how good they were for gluten free and how good the food was, so made sure I ate in there the next time I was in town. Such a lovely atmosphere, the people who worked there were helpful and friendly and the food was just as good, if not better than I'd had before. They were also really helpful with the gluten free options in the cafe as well. I brought two people with me and they both loved it as well so I am sure we will be back!

First visit, used Groupon Voucher. Had issues trying to book both on the Groupon Reservation Platform and the Web Site, but e mailed venue and they called me back. Internal decor is pretty basic, but good selection of dishes available, even though slightly restricted menu using voucher. We both selected the Steak & Ale Pie, which was a great choice, beef was tender and delicious tasting. We both enjoyed our afters, I went for the Apple Crumble and Custard and my DW went for the Chocolate Brownie and Ice Cream, both received top marks. Great value for money, and can see why this is a very popular informal venue.

Lovely traditional lunch place in pleasant old timber framed house where you can find some peace and a quiet family buzz at the same time. The dishes are very traditional with no fuss, no excessive sauces or spices (nowadays you can't escape chilli!) and generous portions. Good for tea as well, with a variety of teas above average. Booking is recommended for lunch.
