North Hill Noodle Bar

Amazing. I don’t really like spicy food, but I wanted the spicy chicken clear noodle soup, as I like clear noodle soups. We asked if we could have it without the spice, and they were very polite and did it for us. Lovely people working there. My favourite Chinese Restaurant. Love it. Around my area. Next to shops. Loved this place back in the day and good to see its still great. The food is delish and really good portions 😊 highly recommend the Beef Bulgogi and steamed pork buns. Price as to be be expected at a decent place like this. Only gripe would be that one of us waited a little while longer for their food - it was busy. Good atmosphere, staff friendly and attentive.

We fancied a bite with flavour: Noodle Bar it is! The BBQ ribs were sticky and meaty, perfect. The squid had a nice light batter and the sauce the right bite, perfect again. Mains included their signature dish the North Hill Noodle: very nice portion, a good balance of meat and noodles too (unlike some places where you search for the meat!) and flavoursome obviously! I had the Roast Duck Red Thai Curry: I was not disappointed! It was so tasty, a great portion too, and the red curry was so tasty too and not overpowering the rest of the dish! The only thing I would suggest is for the waiters to check a bit more upstairs, we would have liked to renew our drinks but the chap was kept so busy (it was a busy night in fairness to him!). The atmosphere is great, there is a really nice vibe. Some may find it a bit crowded and not enjoy being on top of each other somehow. We didn't mind! Definitely a place we will come back to in order to try more dishes!

First Visit, but will not be our last, outstanding food with professional service, make sure you obtain a booking for popular times, the Chicken Satay, Spicy Crackers, Pulled Pork Buns, Kung Po Chicken and King Prawn Pad Thai were all delicious, washed down perfectly with a chilled Sav Blanc White Wine.

I have been to the Noodle Bar countless times now, and every single time the meals are a 10/10. The staff is always super polite and attentive. I honestly recommend the whole menu as every single dish is delicious. I went last night and had the sticky ribs and the North Hill Noodles. The ribs were so juicy and meaty, the noodles are just perfection to me as they have the right amount of pork and prawns! If you are in Colchester, please go as this restaurant is the best!
