First time at the Bambu .First impressions, I love the decor ,a little bit noisy at the start 19.15 Saturday night ,but once people started finishing and leaving it was better ,I could actually have a conversation with the person opposite me on my table .when the starter came ( Tasty mix for 2 ) I wasn't disappointed 😋 it was delicious and well presented on the platter. I had sea bass for main with lime and a side of stir-fried vegetables and Jasmine rice 🍚. The tastes where heaven on my tastebuds. I would recommend this restaurant to others .maybe slightly later to eat. One downside the parking is not the best and the lighting under the arch and along the walkway and up the stairs deffo need to be brighter

Tissue and sticks! Add to delivery please. I have ordered delivery food. It was 7 items for £50 without drinks. Wanted to try all of that. I really enjoyed of quality and taste of the food. Not spicy, light and very delicious. Specially TOFU POP CARAMELISED SOYA SAUSE. By the way packing boxes very comfortable, so I could leave for next time eating or even to use this plastic boxes for something else. But there is small “but” - I have got my order without sticks and without napkins. Lucky I am that I had at home sticks, because to eat Vietnamese food by forks is not really what I wanted. So please, take care about this service for delivery. I think this is not big expense to add tissue and sticks to the order. I will add some photos.

First of all, the staffs are very friendly and welcoming…The decoration is cozy and minimalistic from my point of view. Let’s talk about the menu. There are many Vietnamese dishes that you can choose starting from starters till the desserts. It seems a bit pricey, but I personally think it will be definitely a worth for what you pay for because the taste is really delicious and all of the meals look appetizing to me. I really enjoyed their mango pudding….

Four of us came to Bambu, for a meal on Sunday night. Having been to Bambu before, the quality of the food was the same and didn’t disappoint. We had delicious mixed grill, chicken and bean sprout Crepe, sea bass and the chicken curry. Unfortunately what let it down today was the service, desserts came out separately, but so long apart two of our party had finished before the other desserts came out. Also, we had to ask twice a number of times for forgotten drinks, which was a shame, as usually the service is very good. It wasn’t very busy either despite three servers working. Nice to sit outside and a lovely area out there, to retire to after the main meal inside.

Excellent food and service, maybe a little bit pricy, but it's really worth spending that money. Portions are quite big, after starters I couldn't even finish my main course and all was so delicious

Great food, great taste, great service. Generous portions. Contemporary clean environment, outdoor and indoor seating. Good air con too. Cant fault this. Could easily have been back in Hanoi.

Had an amazing meal here before heading to the Mercury Theatre for a show. Everything was supremely flavoursome. It came out super fast and we were able to eat and run (as we had arrived late). The staff were all absolutely lovely and the atmosphere is laid back and friendly. If we lived anywhere near Colchester, I'd be there on the regular.
