Amazing food and service. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the prices were normal. The only thing was that they didn't play music. I think they should in the future as it will bring into the whole restaurant vibe. Will definitely revisit!

This is a lovely restaurant situated by the gates of Colchester Castle. I've walked past this place many times and it's often quite busy, particularly on a warm afternoon / evening when you can sit out in the garden area. The food is mainly traditional Italian, pasta, meat, fish and pizza with regular specials. My wife and I finally visited a couple of weeks ago and had an amazing meal. I had a seafood risotto which was really tasty and packed with squid and she'll fish. My wife had lobster lingerie, which came dressed with half a lobster on top. There is a good selection of wine, which is quite expensive but I guess average for restaurant wine. I would recommend a meal here.

This is an excellent italian family restaurant right next to the castle. It's reasonable priced and the food is of good quality, authentic and ample portion sizes. A favourite for all of our family and clean plates from the kids is a thumbs up!

Service was slow had to ask twice for jug of water and bill which I had to go up for as was just longing the night out, we also found that the cocktails were tapped which wasn’t stated in the cocktail menu (drinks menu which was the black one on the table) £8.50 for a cocktail which wasn’t even drinkable was a bit much. Food was nice, did ask for crispy pizza and didn’t come out like that, wouldn’t return in a rush as was pricey for what it was. Very awkward atmosphere as only 2 couples in there and we were seated so close and the music kept going off as they have normal Spotify so we struggled when the music stopped.

Had a lovely meal for my dad's birthday with friends and family. Lovely service, friendly staff, great food. Couldn't ask for more! Decent drink options and a few of us had cocktails that were very nice. Side note, I could not recommend the calamari starter enough!!! Great value for money and tasted amazing. Worth the money 100%. A big thank you to the staff that surprised us with a birthday dessert for my dad too.

The Calamari main course was a little underpopulated but had lots of excellent light sauce. I asked for bread to accompany and they brought it quickly without fuss. It became a perfect lunch. My wife enjoyed her salmon tagliatelle and our veggie friend appreciated her option.

Very nice restaurant & varied menu. The staff very friendly & were happy to modify a dish from the menu to my friend's preference. Good portion sizes. My only grumble was the food arrived at the table luke warm and as we had waited a little while for the order to arrive we went with it. We went on a Wednesday evening and it was quiet with only 4 other busy tables. Overall though I would recommend & would return.

The restaurant is situated close to the museum. On entering, I was welcomed by the most pleasant waiters I have ever met with lovely Italian songs playing in the background, the interior is nicely decorated with rare exotic pieces and a pleasant aroma, and the temperature was warm despite the harsh cold outside making it cozy and homely, it is an amazing spot for a romantic candle dinner. On Saturdays, they have a saxophonist play all through the evening. Meals are very tasty and it is worth every penny spent. You can have your birthday party, child christening, and even a wedding reception as the ground floor can seat about 45 to 60 people. It is the best Italian restaurant in Colchester and its environs, a visit will convince you.
