Went for afternoon cream tea.me and my wife are vegetarian. We ordered the vegetarian cream tea.they were very accommodating.food was amazing as was the service and the tea was sublime

Went today for afternoon tea, staff were pleasant and we didn't have to wait long before our drinks and plates of goddies arrived, we were offered a refill on our tea if needed, all in all not a bad afternoon tea for the money.

It’s always a nice treat for the wife and myself, good tasting sandwiches and small quich with scones and a selection of cakes not forgetting the coffees and cappachino refills

Nice cafe selling an array of delicious looking cakes plus drinks, but unfortunately only do a limited range of hot food compared to their larger outlets, I had a slice of carrot cake with a large cuppuchino, both were very nice as was the young lady who served me.

Undaunted by reading the negative reviews, we chanced a visit for afternoon tea. Rather than intimidatingly small, we thought it cosy and to be warm and accommodating on a cold day. Greeted by friendly staff and served in good time, the food (3 plates: variety of freshly made sandwiches, cream scones & jam topped off by cream cakes) made good eating, its consumption facilitated by ample and gratifyingly palatable coffee. We shall revisit.

Really lovely place! I had the BLT Ciabatta Sandwich, a pot of peppermint tea and a lemon tart for an afternoon solo lunch. The waitress was very nice and the service was quick. Everything tasted delicious and it was a quiet enough spot to catch up on my book. Perfect location as well! Highly recommend.

My fiance received a afternoon tea voucher for Christmas at patisserie Valerie in Colchester, we have never been before and when we entered we were greeted by lovely kind and welcoming staff a lovely venue, brilliant service and the food is to die for the cream and jam scones are wow. The coffee is brilliant and all round a amazing experience. We will defo be back. Thanks guys

We've been coming here since the Colchester branch first opened a few years ago. It is still our favourite place to stop for coffee and cake when we are in town (with or without our kids). Their cakes are amazing and they also do waffles, sandwiches and toasties etc. as well as afternoon tea. Nice atmosphere and the staff are always friendly. Ok their cakes aren't cheap but their coffee is similar price as other coffee places in town.
Very child friendly with plenty of high chairs although there isn't a lot of space to park buggies. At busy times I reckon you could park 2 maybe 3 buggies (without folding the buggies up) by the chairs/toilet.
They have a wide selection of cakes but it's worth noting at weekends they could sell out fast because of their 4 for £10 take away deal. There's been a few times we walked past just after 4.30pm on a Saturday and most of the cake slices were gone.
