The Restaurant @ Claricehouse - Colchester

Visited on Saturday as a birthday surprise for my boyfriend. I was a little skeptical as tried many a time to call reception (called over eight times) to finalise some booking details and had no answer . However, we thoroughly enjoyed the spa. Everything was clean and the spa in general was one of the best ones I’ve been to! I really recommend making use of the relaxation room and the water beds as we spent most of our time there. However, the reception team didn’t inform us of these rooms, we only became aware of them when another guest told us about them. The massages were great and really relaxing. Lunch was good too, the food was very tasty however service was slow and we had to chase up where our mains were. Apart from that we had a great time and would probably come back again!

Fantastic birthday treat. Beautiful location, wonderful swimming area, such a shame not all facilities were working, and we couldn't get booked in for any treatments even though we tried online days before and tried to call. Long way to come to sit in a pool. Definitely book way in advance Breakfast was delicious

What a wonderful Spa day from start to finish!!!! The whole experience was just so lovely chilled with excellent service from every member of staff. It’s spotlessly clean and the treatments are just fabulous. My first treatment with Mahima was a facial/ arm & hand massage and also a foot massage. It was a 10/10 and I almost fell asleep . My second treatment was with Michelle I had a body wrap which I’ve had elsewhere before. The best one so far & left me totally relaxed. Everyone you speak to is polite helpful and happy including the lovely manager Tim 😊 Looking forward to returning next January 2024.

The building is looking rather old and tired. Jacuzzi was grubby. While we sat near pool, staff came round and swept water off the floor into the pool. Didn't go in. They need a rule about reserving seats poolside. If you're having a treatment/kunch/drinks etc take your bits with you rather than leaving them for an hour+ poolside.

Had a spa day with my mum and sister. 2 treatments each and access to the pool. Full body massage was ok but definitely could improve. It should be smooth and constant movement however it wasn’t full on. One hand was off and on. Had a feeling that therapist checking phone or something. Same with facial. No recommendation what was used for facial either. My mum and sister had better experience and had all information of products used provided. Other facilities lovely. Few options for relaxation, nice outdoor area. Had no time for pool. Downside that no towels provided even if you pay for a spa day. Overall lovely place just need to check who is doing treatments if you are in for that.

Me and my friends came yesterday. We had a lovely day, the staff are so friendly. The facilities are very clean. The food was lovely. We had a massage and facial which was amazing, we all felt so relaxed and refreshed when we left. It was such a lovely experience and will definitely come again. Thankyou to all the staff at Bannatyne colchester x
