Came here on a recommendation and really pleased I did. This is a lovely country pub and restaurant, the menu isn't extensive but it doesn't need to be because what is available is interesting and actually made it difficult to choose. I narrowed it down to 2 but had to rely on the helpful person behind the bar for advice, I think she was the manager so lamb done 2 ways was the choice.
It was fantastic, piping hot and tasty.
It was so good I'm going back tomorrow for the other choice.

We liked the location and decor very clean and welcoming. Party of four for lunch. On arrival pick and offered table by very pleasant and attentive member of staff. Table service was very good attentive. All ordered the Sunday lunch option. Negative points: When food arrived luke warm with cold plates. Parsnips and carrots under cooked Hot plates would have made the difference. Puddings and drinks good. We maybe should have mentioned it to waiter but hungry and just did not want further delay. Next time we visit I will make sure that I mention it to staff. Again, table service was excellent.
Great food and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Staff were attentive and friendly and the prices were very reasonable. Large menu to choose from and the food was cooked as ordered and very tasty. Definitely somewhere to visit if you want good quality pub food.
First visit, Friday evening, we loved our Lasagna & Sea Bass Mains, excellent value using promotional voucher.
Wide choice of dishes from the menu, including beverages, I liked the use of smaller intimate dining areas.
Will definitely be returning.
This place was outstanding, beautifully decorated and extremely well kept. Staff were friendly and attentive. The food was cooked to perfection, i had steak, best i had in years. Highly recommended amd thank u very much all at the crown, can't wait to come back!
The food and the service was excellent it cost a fortune compared to witherspoons but the food is cooked to order and generous the crown is beautifully made inside and out it looks like a an old Inn with a working fireplace low beam ceiling pictures of a pass linking it to its own past.
Delicious roast pork dinner, was cooked beautifully and the sticky toffee pudding was exquisite! Very friendly staff too, would recommend đź‘Ś
Booked last minute to see family, pub is easy to get to and has a lovely vibe and is cosy! Great menu as it’s vintage inn, and the food was great! We had Beth as our server and she was amazing start to finish and very attentive. Service was quick also for food and drinks! Would definitely return if in the area again!
Why have I not come here before?? What a lovely find for girlies whom luncheon. We booked a table during the week and were offered a choice of seating which was great as so, so hot we wanted to be near an open window. Food was delicious and staff wonderful. Well done working in such heat. Can't wait to return.
The whole experience was really good, have driven past a few times and kept meaning to go in and have lunch! Staff were great, made sure we had all we needed and food was really good. We had our baby with us and the waitress we had was really good with her :)
