I rarely write reviews. First visit to Johnny Mac's. Brilliant customer service by the Gent that greeted me. (Apologies I didn't get your name!) He took his time to explain what we could have Gluten Free which was quite extensive for a change. I was even shown the pot of ingredients they use to put my mind at ease. As it was Halloween, he was handing out free Ice-cream to the kids, but he didn't leave me out, I left with some too! Thank ~ you!

First time trying this chippy as we were nearby. Very pleased to find one open on a Sunday evening so that was already a positive. Service was great, prices acceptable and the food was lovely. Fish seemed very fresh and was extremely tasty.

Moved down from London few years back and tried a few chippy’s round here in Colchester and this is the best one hands down . Always fresh and a proper bit of cod and polite people . Lovely chippy

Was going to order & have it delivered but noticed they charge more per item & then charge for delivery. Not having that thanks! So went down to order to take away with my parents tho could have eaten there as seating is available. When got home 10 mins later, the fish & chips were still hot & delicious. The chips & batter on the fish were light & crispy. Definitely be back.

Well lit, clean, good oil, great quality of the chips and burgers, EACH time I visit. I’ve worked in the catering industry, in 4-5star establishments.
It takes years to get this good.
