Ritmo Tapas Bar

A recent find! Great staff and a very warm welcome. Wide selection of gins and cocktails. Alternate Wednesdays they have a beginners salsa class running which adds to the atmosphere. There is an upstairs area if you find this intrusive. Superb place for larger groups, adding a continental vibe to the Forest.

I was excited to see that a new Turkish restaurant had very recently opened, replacing the old Ritmo tapas bar and I was not disappointed! We went for a meal for 2 on Saturday night. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the refurb looks great, especially the outside. We were given complimentary bread and dips with olives which was delicious. We couldn’t decide on the starters so went for a hot mezze platter which was glorious! The cheesy filo pastry straws were to die for, the halloumi and calamari was cooked to perfection and the meat slices and falafel were also very tasty. It was so difficult to choose the mains as it all sounded amazing but we settled on the meaty mussaka and the andan (I think?) Kofta. The mussaka was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted in my life! It was lusciously creamy, full of flavour and went perfectly with the rice. The kofta was also incredible. Aromatic and tender, served with pitta, a really nice tomato and cucumber salad and rice. There was a good selection of non alcoholic drinks including mocktails, which was very tasty and well presented. All over an excellent experience and I really can’t wait to go back!
