I have been to the hotel 2x this summer and arrived on a yacht both times. I used one of the hotel moorings. This was easy to find. Stunning location. Easy dinghy ride to shore. Hotel is really cool and welcoming with nice classy interior. Caters for locals, visitors, shabby yachtsmen. The bar is friendly with chatting folk. Fish and chips was the best we have ever eaten. Incredibly fresh fish with crispy batter. They fitted us in even though they were fully booked. Guitar on the wall for people to strum. Highly recommend!!!

Arrived by boat, picked up one of the hotel’s moorings. Absolutely the right decision. It’s ages since we had a meal that was as perfect. We had the steak and the courgette medley, a balanced combination of necessary protein and feel-good-about-it vegetables. Haggis bonbons and sherry trifle were unexpected wonders. Wine and service was excellent too.

The quintessential small hotel with restaurant. A beautiful old building with 4 generous and comfortable rooms upstairs. The views from the front rooms back to the Kyle’s of Bute are stunning. We ate a beautiful meal: langoustine and oysters superb and the wine list was well curated and fairly priced. The decor downstairs is lovely with an inviting dining room with period character and great views and a bar space that shows a real pub character and maintains some clear regulars (which I love to see!). I could not recommend more highly. The overall bill for our experience was very affordable.

My wife and myself recently had the pleasure of dining at this traditional Scottish pub hotel and indulging in their local fresh food. The cod with mussels and fresh veggies was an absolute delight. The cod was cooked to perfection, flaky and tender, while the mussels added a delightful briny flavor. The freshness of the veggies complemented the dish beautifully, providing a burst of vibrant flavors. It was evident that the ingredients were sourced locally, as each bite showcased the true essence of Scottish cuisine. Overall, the dining experience was truly excellent, highlighting the pub hotel's commitment to serving top-notch, quality dishes that celebrate the region's culinary heritage. Of course we also had Fyne Ales… delightful experience!

The whole experience was fantastic, from the 3 minute ferry ride the sheep roaming wild and the food was fabulous. The steaks were perfectly cooked, dads Haddock and chips the best he's had in years and my piri piri pouson was tender and spicy all finished off with a cheese board. Finally a couple of guys playing guitars and singing great songs. Thanks for a great night 🌙

Wonderful stay here as a pit stop on my way to Islay. David, Joanna, Cameron, the whole team were great hosts. I had a lovely leisurely meal outside in the sun (I was reminded how rare this is) with quality food and some good beer. Once the sun went down I was made to feel very welcome at the bar thanks to some great conversation with the staff and locals. My room was brilliant too and set up with everything I needed. The bike service station is also worth a mention! Top notch 👍

This is Scottish pub food at its finest. I was blown away by the quality of food, extensive wine list and the relaxed informal atmosphere , this is everything you want from a casual dining experience. The menu is well thought out cooked by chefs that know how to handle delicate foods like octopus and Langoustines. I have to give a special nod two the smaller ingredients on these dishes, the sauces and garnishes are made from scratch and tasted incredible. An all-round amazing meal and I can’t wait to come back and visit again.
