Jaap's Catch

What a great chippy. We were in the area walking on the beach in the late spring sun and needed to get something to eat. Straight up marine drive turn right and it’s on the left I was told by a local, you can’t go wrong they do cracking fish and chips I was told. What a fantastic friendly chippy who sell outstanding fish & chips. The person who told me to go there thanks, you were spot on they were the best I’ve had in north Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 in a long time. I will certainly be going back to Jaap’s fish n chips.

After trying a different chip shop on our last visit, I can honestly say this is the best fish and chips I have had. The chips were so good, not greasy at all and the fish was perfect and very tasty. I ordered 2 portions of fish and chips to take-a-way but after seeing the tables inside and the uniformed staff we will be eating inside on our next trip You even get tartare sauce and lemon 😃

First time here and would definately go again if I was in the area. One of the best take out fish and chips I've had in a long time. No soggy batter and undercooked chips here!!!! Nice crispy batter on the fish (served with a slice of lemon) and lovely chips. Only negative (and being harsh as the food was so nice!!!) would be that I would have liked a larger portion!!

I was brought up in Dave's chippy in Colwyn bay, that had an amazing reputation. It's a hard find to get a chippy that's nice with fish and nice with chips. Jaap's is really really nice, he's old school and a gent. The fish is cooked really well, the batter is great and the chips are Spot on, not greasy.... Even get a lemon wth the fish, very nice touch that. There is a small cafe there too which is very nice and cute. Payment is best with cash as the card machine can be a bit on and off 😉 just a really nice chippy, probably the best in the bay.
