We booked to stay on their caravan site as we were passing through. We went into the pub for an evening meal, the food was great. the staff were all very friendly, helpful and welcoming. We ended up booking a table for breakfast too which was also really good. Hopefully we will stay again sometime

Food was good and comforting, very reasonable prices. Recommend coming here for some pub grub that won’t break the bank. Staff were super friendly and accommodating, would definitely visit again.

Just got back from. Sunday carvery , excellent food, large helpings, and staff are very friendly and efficient. This is not an easy place to get to, but just shows how good they are, as they had plenty of happy customers. Would definitely recommend.

We Pre booked Christmas lunch and a motorhome pitch, based on general reviews, so really didn’t know what to expect. However there was nothing to be concerned about. We were welcomed on arrival, being shown where the waste points etc are and which was our pitch. We ate from the pub menu on Christmas Eve afternoon, then stopped for the band in the evening, then had lunch on Christmas Day. The food was very good, with plenty of it and the owner and staff were pleasant and friendly, as were the locals. Pub was pretty full on both days, which is obviously testament to the owners and staff. Electric is from a preloaded card, with a £5 refundable deposit. No toilets or showers, but not a problem to us. Thank you for your hospitality and we hope you have a successful 2024.

My husband and I recently had our wedding reception at The Anvil. We were treated to a beautiful three course meal which included the carvery for our small wedding party of 28. We had an evening buffet with plenty of food to go around our 80 evening guests together with a disco in the main bar. This pub is a lovely little gem hidden away in the back roads of Congham. We weren’t overcharged because we booked a ‘wedding’ which you will find with most venues you are. The service was second to none and Carl, Lewis and Kath and the team couldn’t have been more helpful. The food is 5 star, service is 5 star and the atmosphere was 5 star. Our wedding day was fantastic because of the service we received and we will now become regulars at The Anvil as it will hold a special place in our hearts going forward.

Went for a meal and the staff and location were second to none! It’s a lovely hidden gem in the area, food was amazing and the staff were welcoming and informative, we will definitely be back!

We were desperate for a coffee whilst out on a walk and didn't realise the Anvil wasn't yet open, but we stopped and asked. The staff were so welcoming and helpful and we got delicious coffee 😋 Thank you for rescuing us, not once but twice, as we came again next day!

Went out for a meal with friends lovely food great sized portions such kind and friendly staff would highly recommend and will go back again soon

Whilst staying at a local Caravan site we decided to book this as a local source to eat out! What a wonderful surprise this turned out to be! Amazing staff, fantastic service, very attentive! Main and dessert were absolutely lovely, drinks very good and cold, needed in this hot weather! We can definitely recommend, we will also see you again in July. Kind regards Clayton and Clare ☺️

Brilliant pub in the middle of rural Norfolk and great and friendly staff.

We have been on many occasions and never had a bad meal. The landlord and his staff are all very friendly and helpful. The landlady /chef is also excelent company and hard working. All in all I would recommend the Anvil for any occasion. The menu is suitable for any taste with plenty to choose from. The sweets are to die for. Keep it up Karl & Kath.

Amazing place , what a find good wholesome home cooked food , great atmosphere very attentive and polite staff, will definitely visit again thank you to Carl , Cath and there team Great camping site as well even to the point you are refunded any of your electric deposit that you did not use , we managed to use 70p over the night in our camper , spent the evening in the pub and laughed and drank with the exatreamly friendly locals

This is our second visit with the caravan. A fantastic place. All the staff are lovely and the food is amazing. They keep a great range of real ales and the menu has something for everyone. Will definitely be returning.

What a find.... Great pub/restaurant..... Stopped one night on the pubs own small campsite.... Very peaceful..... The Owner and staff were really welcoming, friendly and polite..... The food was amazing... Great choice and large portions...... Will definitely be returning in the future

20 meals all served at the same time and to perfection and no pre-ordering. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners and staff. Highly recommend it. In fact going back for more on Sunday. Thank you Karl, Kath and your Team for making my birthday meal so special. Xx

Been going to the Anvil for over a year for the live music but had never eaten there,however called in today with the little lady for lunch and it was fantastic food and service was great. �

It was our first visit to the Anvil, we shall certainty be going again. The music was fantastic so was the atmosphere. Only wish we had found out about this place before, shall definitely make this a regular.

Great pub, regular live music, great food and a caravan/motorhome site for 5 units , what more could you want for a night out away from home. All the staff very friendly and accommodating.

We went here for the first time for my mum's 80th Birthday last night .Food was excellent with big portions and lots of choice. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Cannot wait for our next visit - highly recommended
