Nicely laid out garden centre with lots of gardening items, lighting and a very unique range of gifts. It has a great cafe area which is worth visiting as part of your trip. Have been visiting this premises for over 10 years and am never disappointed.
Lovely garden centre close to my home. Friendly and helpful staff. Great selection of plants and other gardening items. I joined their loyalty scheme which is £12 per year and gives you 1% cash back and free coffees.
A great place to pick up everything you need for a lovely garden. Also, the shop is full of tempting treats for animals and humans alike. The cafe is a lovely place to while away time after you've made your purchases.
Very worthwhile visiting, you never know quite what you will find.
We popped in for breakfast as we heard it was good.
It was.
We both had the 'gardeners breakfast'
It was very good and reasonably priced considering the café is situated inside a garden centre.
There was a wait of about 10-15 minutes which is remarkable as the place was packed.
The garden centre part of the building is nice too, with many things to peruse.
it all seems way too expensive but that's the same for all garden centres in my opinion.
Always a treat to visit Astbury garden centre. We had lunch in the cafe, which was very busy but the food and service was as good as always. A mooch around the well stocked plant section and a wander around the extensive outdoor buildings. The gift shop never fails to make us part with our money!
We visited today just love this garden centre.never been in the cafe till today because never really needed to. We called in for a late lunch.the food was lovely..the staff were brilliant and my grandson was so impressed with his picnic style lunch. It was healthy and filling. Will deffo be using the cafe again.
My recent visit to Asbury Meadow Garden Centre left me with mixed feelings. There were certainly some positives, but there were also notable negatives that affected my overall experience.
On the positive side, the garden centre boasts an impressive selection of shopping genres for shoppers to peruse, catering to both home and garden needs. Whether you're in search of decorative items, gardening tools, or outdoor furniture, you're likely to find it here. Additionally, the availability of free parking is a definite convenience, especially for those planning to spend some time exploring the offerings.
Another positive aspect is the presence of a restaurant on-site. It's always nice to have a place to sit down, relax, and enjoy a meal or refreshments while taking a break from shopping. The restaurant provided a pleasant environment and a decent menu, making it a good pitstop during my visit.
However, there were some notable downsides to my experience at Asbury Meadow Garden Centre. One of the most significant issues I encountered was the pricing of the plants. the prices were notably high when compared to competitors in the area. This could be a deterrent for budget-conscious shoppers and may lead them to explore alternative options for purchasing plants.
Furthermore, I was disappointed by the limited selection of plants available during my visit. It's understandable that plant availability can vary depending on the season, but a garden centre should strive to provide a diverse range of options year-round. This lack of variety made it challenging for me to find specific plants I had in mind for my garden.
Lastly, I found that the layout and organization of the garden centre lacked a cohesive retail experience. Navigating the aisles and finding specific items felt somewhat haphazard. Improved signage and a more intuitive layout would greatly enhance the shopping experience and make it easier for customers to locate what they're looking for.
In conclusion, my visit to Asbury Meadow Garden Centre had its share of positives, including a wide selection of items, free parking, and an on-site restaurant. However, the high plant prices, limited plant selection, and the somewhat disorganized retail experience were notable drawbacks. While I wouldn't rate it as my top choice for garden centres, it could still be worth a visit, especially if you're in need of specific items and are willing to pay a premium for convenience.
Good selection of plant pots to the outside area.
Inside shop has usual garden centre products plus a art and crafts room.
Restaurant was nice and spacious I had the winter soup which was good.
Parking was no problem (date of visit Monday in Jan).
Had a lovely few hours here today with friends.
A really good selection of things to buy, I bought a wirehaired Dachshund picture, my freinds spent a small fortune on plants, that looked so good and healthy.
We had lunch in the cafe, again a good selection and reasonably priced.
The trifle and cream scones are a must.
The whole place is dog friendly too, apart from the inside seating area of the restaurant, but welcomed dogs in the outside seating area.
Lots of variety for all different ages.
Definitely worth the visit if you are in the local area.
Cafe review. Good choice. Gammon dinner with nice dark gravy. Was lovely. Mother had beef baguette 🥖. Lots of plants etc. Typical indoor garden centre prices. Worth a mooch
