Just been to this pub/restaurant for a buffet Wake after a funeral. My Son & partner are Vegans and the buffet had nothing compatible with Vegans. I spoke to the member of staff who immediately suggested he do a Vegan burger. These arrived soon after, I offered to pay as they were not included on the buffet, but was told parent not necessary. Great service, great buffet, great burger.

We had a fantastic meal here last night. Food was excellent and the portion sizes are amazing! The young girl who served us was really helpful and made us all feel very welcome. We will definitely be back

Tonight was the 3rd night me and the lads from work have had an evening here with a meal and drinks. Great atmosphere and friendly staff,who can't do enough for you. The food is good. So give it a go!

The hospitality and food here are first class. Not your usual chain pub fare, here it all seems properly home cooked with obvious skills in the kitchen. Fair enough, the service wasn't that quick but the food and hospitality more than made up for this.

I can't understand why the place wasn't packed when we ate there this Sunday. The Sunday roast was excellent value for money and presented to high standard. The staff are pleasant and professional. The reason this isn't 5 stars is due to the service being a little slow. Otherwise I highly recommend a visit.

Great home cooked food....homemade chips and onion rings. The young team are super-friendly and helpful. Prices are almost too cheap for the well-kept beer and lovely food. Can highly recommend.

Much better experience when going in recently. Food was great and the waitress was very pleasant and helpful.
I've had so many poor experiences here in the past under previous management but it appears to have finally improved.

Brilliant service especially by the two ladies that serviced our tables you helped to make mine and my husbands Ruby wedding anniversary special on the 2nd of March 2019 We had a party of eighteen half of which were under 11yrs. The staff couldn't do enough they worked so hard. The food was hot and tasty no delays. It was a perfect day thank you 😊

We had attended a funeral and afterwards were to meet in the Cheshire Tavern. It was a relaxed affair with no booked catering. When we arrived we discovered that the chef was ill and no food was being served. I asked if we could buy sandwiches etc. And eat them on the premises. The answer was yes. Some of those attending had travelled from Henley that morning and were returning later today. The staff brought out plates, cutlery and napkins and nothing was too much bother. I went to local sandwich shop and bought the sandwiches, pies and cakes. The staff helped set up. I can't praise the manager and his team highly enough. You turned what could have been a disaster into people being cared for after a funeral of a much loved neighbour and friend. Thank you so much for having a heart.

We went here today as a family of 3 and it was fantastic the staff were lovely and helpful the food was delicious and hot. And everywhere was clean and cleared up quickly once people had left, food not left on table for age. Can say 10/10 service all round

Had my daughter's baby shower here and they did the catering for us. Amazing food and huge portions. Great atmosphere and Richard the manager was so kind and helpful. Highly recommend anyone having a party to go here.

Just come back from a birthday party in the top bar.
Fantastic atmosphere, the staff were great,friendly and joining in with the dancing.
The room is an excellent place for a get together.
DJ Nigel did the party proud.

We have visited several times over the last year and found the food to be pretty good. The choice is good and the price was very fair. Not sure what other people were expecting for 'buy one meal and the second is free' but we were very satisfied and will be going back in two days time.
Edit : well went back with my wife, daughter and her husband and had a lovely meal plus the staff were really friendly. Thank you Liz for recommending the apple and plum pie. It was as good as you said it was.
