Yuntai House

The food is absolutely delicious here. The sauces are amazing, with great depth of flavour. You can tell a lot of work goes into making them. I LOVE the peking sauce in particular. Everything I've tried so far is just so incredibly well-cooked and flavoured. Food is ready quickly, the staff are lovely and the prices are great for the amount & quality of food you get. Cannot recommend enough! UPDATE: 9 months later, and the food is still amazing. Every single time I get takeaway from here, whether its collection or delivery, the food is consistently delicious & piping hot. Their salt and pepper chips are still the best I've ever had, hands down.

The food from Yuntai House is fantastic. The service is always friendly and efficient. I dropped them a star because they only accept cash. In today's almost cashless society when I rarely carry cash and sometimes don't even have my wallet on me (I pay for 90% of what I buy with my phone) this is an inconvenience. I am sure I am not alone and the place would probably be a lot busier if they accepted card payments... but then maybe the quality of the food would go down too so... win some lose some I guess. We first went on a Monday because some other Chinese restaurants were closed on Mondays. It is now our favourite Chinese takeaway in Congleton though we also often buy from Chopstix (2nd favourite) as they offer easy online booking and take card payments... I do recommend you try the crispy shredded beef with chilli. It is quite exceptional... we nirmally have it with egg fried rice but we bought some the other day to have on top of a salad as a slightly healthier option. It was delicious and I am sure we will do it again.
