Review Potager Garden Cafe - Constantine

Iris Hardege
Delicious fresh food and gorgeous surroundings. This was probably my favourite lunch spot of all on my trip. The menu is very vegetable focussed with interesting and tasty combinations. Highly recommended! There was quite a long wait for food, and the gardens and greenhouses are really pretty so make sure you factor in a decent amount of time to visit. Loads of parking.

A wonderful place for rest and revitalisation. See the photos for a look at the grounds and an appreciation of what we enjoyed in the café. Most definitely the best poached eggs on toast we've ever had. Many more things we would have liked to try. In the grounds are lots of wonderful plants, vegetables growing and places to chill out. Staff here are both friendly and very chilled.

Beautiful on every level. I have been to the potager quite a few times since my last review and I love how this place feels familiar and yet changing every time following the rhythm of seasons. My daughter loved the hammack! The cakes are wonderful and the flowers... A pleasure to explore. One piece of advice. Take your time to be and to explore. This is not a place to rush things

Had a lunch here as a family, pleasing surroundings and gardens Served interesting plates, good for vegetarians. The staff are lovely. Only complaint charged £3 for extra mushrooms with my poached eggs on toast, this amounted to 1 medium sized mushroom. Not pleased...

What an amazing find! The Potager Garden is not visible from the lane where you turn off into the car park. Walking up the path, through trees, and padt a fire pit with wooden bench seats and a willow woven pod, you get the feeling you might have come across something magical. We definitely felt this on reaching the beautifully kept garden, a fenced vegetable garden to one side, with veg and flowers sitting sharing the space, the latter attracting pollinators & keeping pests at bay. Under trees are tables for dining or sitting with a coffee & cake. We ate indoors - a cool, airy space with mismatched tables & chairs. Beyond, more greenhouses to wander round with a mix of unusual and very healthy looking plants. Outside, apart from the tables & chairs, there are hammocks strung between trees, deck chairs and a badminton net with all the equipment for a game. The food was perfect - we had brunch and were struck by the freshness & originality of the menu. The cakes too were delicious. I noticed that a variety of workshops are run there, a toddler group, volunteer gardeners help maintain the plants. We felt as if we had found a little hidden treasure, where we could relax and just enjoy the natural beauty around.

Great quirky location but very friendly and helpful staff. Only had coffee and cakes but would return. Beautiful gardens to wander around and loved the hammocks and chairs on the lawn. Amazing show if dahlias too

Our first visit to Potager Garden and won't be our last. We only had coffee which was excellent but the food coming from the kitchen looked delicious. The garden was delightful and well worth a visit. The lovely grey cat was very friendly too !

Outstanding, the best veggie restaurant I have ever been too. And the place and people are as lovely as the food. it was also very reasonable price wise. Well worth a visit.

A beautiful tucked-away haven, with a stunning greenhouse-cafe, and friendly team. Delicious and filling brunch menu served between 10-3pm, made by chef Daisy and crew with local vegetarian ingredients. Coffee and cake too. Feels like a mini-Eden project!

We love coming to Potager and always have the best experience. Their menu changes every couple of weeks, so there is always something new, exiting and seasonal. The surrounding area invites you to hang around and spend some time in the hammocks/gardens. Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.

What a delightful place to spend time, enjoying the gardens and the delicious food! The staff are very friendly and the food is good, fresh and wholesome. You know you’ll leave having been well nourished. A relaxed atmosphere with a play area for children’s imagination and hammocks slung between trees.

Finally popped here after alot of people saying how lovely it is and I'm glad we did. Didn't have a lot of vegan options but the staff were really helpful and adapted the beetroot sandwich to make it suitable for vegans. We'd seen someone else having it and it looked so good. We're so glad they did as it was such a good sandwich. Really fresh bread and other ingredients, little pot of hummus and roasted new potatoes were such a lovely side that came included. Would definitely recommend anyone visiting. Such a pretty setting and dog friendly as well...

The restaurant, food, surroundings, plants, music and staff have been amazing experiences on every visit. We have never been disappointed, the food is adventurous, well cooked and good value for money. The staff are always friendly even when rushed off their feet. Lottie (Welsh Terrier) has always been welcomed and provided with a bowl of fresh water, she is blind but enjoys the smell of the food and the garden, as do we. We are so pleased to have this fantastic restaurant close to home, that we make a point of taking our visitors on every occasion. Sue, Steve and Lottie

Food is always first rate, cakes that can't be resisted. Not the cheapest place to eat, but for quality food and excellent service it's worth treating yourself occasionally.

We went yesterday for breakfast and ended up spending hours here. Tea, toast and marmalade for me, and full brekkie, minus egg (we're vegan) for the man. He said, and a I quote.... "That was the the best breakfast I've ever eaten out!" This place is amazing... We'll be back

Lovely place to go & play with the kids. Scrummy choc & 🍌 cake with a ☕️ with the sun shining through the glass house windows. It really felt like spring is definitely on it's way. Cannot wait to return.

Not only is this one of the most beautiful and inspiring gardens to visit in Cornwall, it's also a great place to meet friends and enjoy amazing organic veggie food and drink :-)

Such a wonderful and peaceful place. Run by the friendliest people and serving delicious food. It feels really unique but not at all contrived like some places going for the 'healthy lifestyle' vibe. While we were there my daughter accidentally broke a pot we had just bought and the two men there were so kind and glued it back together for me (it arrived home in one piece - thank you!) We really enjoyed playing table tennis under the wisteria and badminton outside in the beautiful gardens. There is only one thing that would make it even better and that's if they could offer a small selection of 'safe' wrapped gluten free cakes as our daughter is coeliac. However, they were super nice about her bringing her own cake to have and even remembered to bring her a plate. We will definitely come back when we are next down. Thanks for a lovely last morning of our holiday. I just wish I could be a 'Potager Pea'!

I used to wonder why I could use the same ingredients as Lisa but come out with an inferior dish. Now I know it is because of the spirit she puts into the process as much as the ingredients themselves. Lisa loves people and loves food, so of course the meals she prepares reflect love, comfort, and health. Of course she can still make a mistake time and again, but as with most matters of the heart, her mistakes can be just as sweet as her successes. Cheers Lisa.

We love it here! Delicious homemade veggie food and a great area for the children to explore. We tried the frittata and mezze today which were amazing along with hummus and bread and cheese on toast for the kids :) Friendly and accommodating staff, a really relaxing space which all of us are able to enjoy. The gardens are lovely and highly recommended for some peaceful 'time out'. Can't wait for our next visit!

So relaxing! I always feel as though I've been away on holiday rather than just popped out for coffee. It is particularly good coffee and the lemon and poppy seed cake was wonderful. We'll be back.
