This was a lovely find and something different and quite unique, where you cook your own choice of meat or fish on a hot stone rock at your table! It was busy, pre-booking required. They don’t sell alcohol but you were welcome to take your own along with you. It’s dog friendly, mu dogs had their own rug under the table to settle down on! Nice selection of quality food with gluten free and vegetarian options. I forgot to take a photo of the main food as I was busy listening to instructions on how best to cook it, but you get a platter with a jacket potato, roasted courgette & carrots, a selection of three dips and then your meat or fish on the hot stone. Food was lovely, quite a novelty cooking on the hot stone, would definitely go back!
First time visiting here, I have had steak on a stone in the Algarve for many years, so was nice to have similar here close to home.
Wife had fillet & I went for Lamb rump, beautiful is all I can say, was tasty and cooked to perfection (oh yeah I cooked it myself lol).
Seriously though we'll worth a visit, staff friendly and helpful, one thing they say as you enter is they don't serve alcohol but are happy for you to supply your own and they don't charge corkage (bonus).

Great personable service and tasty food. You cook your own main course meat at the table. I had lamb, it was beautifully tender and very tasty. It is unlicensed so you can take your own alcohol. They supply glasses and dispose of your empty bottles too
An absolutely lovely experience, polite and friendly staff, excellent decor and delicious food. Would recommend booking, if you want alcohol it is bring your own, though they do have soft drinks to order. All in all a wonderful experience
Was lucky to get a table at short notice. Lovely restaurant, with friendly helpful staff. Food was great too! Had the trio of meat sharing dish, perfect for 2. Definitely will be returning.

My fiancé and I were lucky enough to book in at short notice - he had the beef fillet and I had salmon. Both were amazing! We planned to have dessert, but honestly couldn't fit anything else afterwards! The staff were very friendly and accommodating - and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend a visit!
LAVA is definitely an alternative way to dine, an experience I won’t forget.
It’s a cozy little restaurant with limited seating so booking is recommend.
We both had the 10oz beef fillet which is served with a good sized jacket potato and fresh veg. We where given instructions on best way to cook the steak to our liking. It was extremely enjoyable and can’t wait to visit again. The staff are extremely friendly and very attentive.
This is a take bring your own restaurant only serving soft drinks. There is a spar shop about 1 minute away which offers a large selection of beers and wines.
The all gender toilet is very fresh and clean in all areas. There is a selection of perfumes and antiperspirants to use free of charge which is a nice gesture.
Well worth a visit if you in the area, it’s a great bit of fun.

Love the concept and the kids loved cooking their own food. Service great and BYOB makes it great value too.
