We always visit Pen-y-Bryn when we come from the Wirral for a walk in Conwy. In fact it's always part of the day out...we plan the timing to always allow a spot of lunch there. It's a comfy, homely little place in an old building with loads of character. A proper tearoom. Even during its busiest times we've always found the staff to be helpful and accommodating..they're certainly hard workers! The food is always tasty and well presented (particularly the rarebit), the soups are always lovely and the caramel latte goes down a treat. We've been there many times and never had a problem with being ignored or dirty dishes. The staff can be very busy sometimes...but that's life...

Popped in for coffee and light lunch. Needed a dog friendly place. We were advised of a long wait for food on entry, which was fine as we were in no hurry but we didn't have to wait that long. Place was very busy but not not over full. Lovely lunch, poached egg on toast (3 eggs 😯) and our dog even got a free sausage. Lovely clean tea room and the toilets were very nice too. Staff very friendly and efficient too.

Busy tearoom in Conwy. Staff very friendly, we turned up during busy lunch time. We were met with a smile , and shown to table in back room after a very short wait to clear away and clean it. It was one in one out , always a good sign of a popular place. Menu has somehow for everyone and there is special sandwich of the day as well. Very reasonably priced as well and generous portion size we found when food arrived. Short wait to order. Drinks came promptly and food not long after. Everything homemade , hot food hot and everything fresh and very tasty. Loved my afternoon tea for one, more than enough for one as sandwiches made with lovely thick sliced bread. And good size scone, two slices or bara birth ,and slice of lemon drizzle ( there was a choice of cake) All cleared our plates sign of satisfied customers. Brilliant find, great staff even tho rushed off their feet we weren't made to feel rushed. Thankyou

Not sure why the terrible reviews?!?!? My wife had tuna jacket potato and I had the leek and potato soup and a brie and cranberry toastie. The food was really nice and was quick to arrive. The portion sizes were huge and very filling. Then had the cream tea with cherry scone (alot of tea!) which made about 5 cups of tea! This was also very nice and quick to arrive. Great service, excellent homely food (the only place that still does soup and a sandwich in the UK it seems!). They were obviously very very busy but the staff were still polite and friendly and I think they did very well given the circumstances, especially for the hoards of miserable tourists pushing their way in who have no concept of a busy tea rooms. I can only imagine negative reviews are from people with no taste buds or who have been turned away because the place is FULL. The place is dog friendly so should have rave reviews! I would highly recommend it.

We’ve just been in for Afternoon Tea as a Honeymoon gift and it was fantastic.. we got the celebration 25 and Oh my word what an amazing experience, such a beautiful calm tea rooms with plenty of space and a friendly atmosphere. The sandwiches were very substantial and wonderfully fresh and full of flavour, the scone was buttery, sweet and with just the right amount of crumble, the Bara Brith was rich and moist and the carrot cake was softly spiced and not too sweet ( I couldn’t eat it all) There was plenty of tea that came piping hot with extra water if you needed a ‘top up’ .. the celebration comes with a small bottle of Prosecco that was enough for 2 decent glasses. We’re both absolutely stuffed full but for a very special treat then this is is the place I’d 100% recommend x

Lovely tearooms, service a bit slow, but the lady was on her own so acceptable. The food was gorgeous, homemade, and hot. Well worth the visit 🥰🥰

Popped into the tea rooms as we wanted to sit indoors with our dog and noticed the 'Dog Friendly' sign outside. We only had a coffee & it was quite quiet - but we were made very welcome. Bella our collie cross was immediately presented with a nice rug to lie on and after our coffees came (didn't wait long) Bella received a cooked sausage for free!! No complaints from dog or humans. Well worth a visit with your pooch.

We arrived after 3pm on a Sunday having been turned away from other cafes as they were closing. We received a friendly greeting and polite and efficient service . I enjoyed the Welsh Rarebit with additional mushrooms and my friend enjoyed the full Welsh breakfast. A pleasant experience and reasonably priced .

The lasagne was really good and good value for money my quiche and jacket pot was not really worth the money, especially with the portion size. But it was really cure inside and had nice toilets. Good vibe and good caje display too.

Have been here a number of times, often after hiking/running conwy mountain area, and sometimes just before closing. We've always been accommodated. Food is hearty - very nice jackets, soups, and sandwiches. Today's broccoli & spinach soup was just delicious. Well be back for more!!!!
