Shimla Spice

I've dined here a few times, before and since it moved from it's former location at Coventry Station. A really nice place to eat, always good service and delicious food. The staff are always helpful and attentive. I'm happy to recommend it. Much better value than the Indian/Thai restaurant on the other side of the street... avoid that.

New décor, new menu, same friendly welcome and good service. We found a complete new décor at the Shimla Spice together with a reminder of the original restaurant by the station with three clocks with the times for London, New York and Dhaka. The new menu also reflected the Bangladeshi link. We mostly stuck to old favourites, my wife with sizzling fish with the vegetable tray of 3 veggie curries. I tried the Lamb Supreme, a traditional 'home style' Bangladeshi lamb with cabbage and green peppers. The lamb was beautifully tender and tasted great.

We've been going to Shimla for years. We first started going when it was situated at the train station and when it moved (due to city centre redevelopment), we made sure we found out where they were moving to. We had a takeaway last night and it was delicious! Lovely Bombay potatoes, and they were generous with the yummy popadom dips too (it's the little things). We will always eat/order from here, highly recommend.

Great Indian restaurant. For me it's the best in Coventry right now if you want genuine curries that are cooked from scratch & not full of oil. Naans come out perfect every time ...& very attentive service. Thanks guys ! King prawn jalfrezi, lamb dam dam, chicken rezalla. All excellent & shashlick starters also great!!
