Myself, my son and 2 of our friends visited The New Spires on Friday Evening. It's not local to us at all but we had heard of it. The pub was clean, the staff very friendly as were the locals who we met. 3 of us had the mixed grill and 1 had the rump steak. Huge compliments to the Chef as our steaks were all cooked to our likings and was beautiful. I've been to a lot of places over the years local to myself and we've all been disappointed with our steak, and if we've had a mixed grill the gammon and chicken are always so dry. This isn't the case at The New Spires it was fabulous and succulent. I would definitely recommend their steaks and mixed grill. Looking forward to going again in the near future. Thank you Karl, the bar staff, Chef and the locals for a warm welcome, fab food and a great evening!!
22/12/17 went to watch The High Flying Aces band at this great pub had a meal before the gig and found the staff friendly and pleasant enjoyed our meals thankyou. I am vegetarian and the choice was good. The other two people with me had meat dishes and we all enjoyed our meals.
Had a lovely lunch yesterday with my friend, her daughter and my daughter.
The service was quick and friendly. The manager Michelle was warm, lovely and interacted with the kids. She even blew up the bouncy castle just for them to play on!
I had the prawn super salad and it was delicious!
Staff were so friendly food is amazing and great if you bring the kids sports on every day and larger is mint
Great pub, great atmosphere and more importantly - great staff! Highly recommended if you're in the area, the Moretti is lovely...
First time here for over 15 years and it's a much better place.
Good staff and great atmosphere
I visited for the rugby and there was a great atmosphere in the pub. They also had the football and cricket showing as well. The pub show 3 things at the same time on their system. I didn't know that so I will be back #Don't miss the action.
Since new owners have taken over, this pub has seen a huge improvement. The place has a great atmosphere, very friendly staff and most importantly, a great selection of beers. The standard of the food has improved significantly. I would highly recommend coming along on a Sunday for a roast dinner, cannot fault it at all.
Also, there is plenty here for children to do. As well as a small outdoor play area, they even have a bouncy castle.
For the adults, the pub has TVs everywhere, even outside so ideal for watching any sporting events. There is also a decent pool table and darts.
Overall, a great local pub which I’d certainly recommend over any other pubs in the vicinity.
A great pub with lots of atmosphere, an excellent selection of beers on tap.
The food menu is great and very reasonably priced.
Parking is no problem, with plenty of spaces 👍😎
I have a regular lunchtime meet with a few of my old mates...we're all retired and just enjoy the weekly chat and putting the world to rights.....
The pub and its proprietor, Michelle is doing a great job.....the atmosphere is bright and lively and very friendly with exceptional bar staff....
I highly recommend this place, please pop in and see you yourself....
