We have just had the most stunning meal at The Basque Kitchen. As visitors to the island for a short holiday with our family, we decided to leave the kids with their grandparents and have a very rare meal out - just the two of us. We had the most beautiful Tapas (we ordered loads of dishes, probably too much for two people, but so pleased we did as it would have been a shame not to try everything), the chef produced an extra dish for us to try which was simply amazing, the gin selection was out of this world and I think I'm now hooked on Brockmans ... if you're looking for Tapas on the island, you MUST try this restaurant. Even if you're staying over the other side of the island, it's worth every minute of the 30 minute trip! Xx

Good Spanish food on British Sea Side.. perfect. Had a great lazy long afternoon lunch at the place and was absolutely delighted. Highly recommend the marinated salmon and the croquettes. The breads were fresh and warm. The sangria was nice and light. Recommend the place for a day on the Isle.

Really authentic tasty Basque food. So glad we visited this lively restaurant. We shared a few Tapas including a delicious grilled white asparagus which was a daily special and then followed with the 1kg forerib on the bone with chips and peppers to share - it was excellent. We sat inside, but there appears to be outdoor seating at the rear of the restaurant. Parking can be found nearby at Brunswick Road. I would say that booking is essential, particularly if you want to sit inside. Definitely highly recommended.

The Basque Kitchen is always awesome! The cooking is authentic and absolutely delicious. The portions are generous. And Chef's meal is the best value for money in town - £30 per person for a mix of tapas that will have you properly full up. I always want to order the Basque cheesecake and I'm pretty much always too full to make it, although Markel has served it to us as take away dessert in the past, and that was the best late night snack ever. The team definitely know what they're doing amd they're doing it very well indeed! If you haven't been yet, you should. Personally love to go on Sunday night ❤️

Great Spanish restaurant in Cowes. We had a tapas meal of calamari, pork belly, sautéed vegetables, rolled lamb and cheesy garlic bread. Was all delicious! Deconstructed cheesecake for dessert. Very fresh food, interesting mix of tastes and friendly service. We were seated outside and there were probably 10-12 tables in total. Only reason not 5 stars is we had to wait quite a while for the order and the bill at the end, but can’t fault the food at all. It’s delicious!!

Lovely evening out with friends. 1st time here. Took awhile to get our heads round the menu. Food was great. Small carafe of house wine was expansive, although it was cowes weeks. Felt rushed as the waiter started clearing our table before we had finished eating.

Absolutely superb! I can't believe they've been here 11 years and I've only just discovered them. Wonderful, authentic Basque food. Delicious. Thoroughly recommended.

Brilliant food. They booked a large group of us in at late notice and looked after us. Brilliant food and service. And well done young James for putting up with the pirates 👍👍

Great venue, amazing food and very friendly staff. One thing that would get them a fifth star would be organisation. One manager overseeing each section might work better. Would highly recommend the kilo of steak! The desserts were scrumptious too. Kudos to the half-Dutch half-Isle of Wight waitress who went out of her way for us.

We had amazing food and brilliant service. Pata baravas for starter which was soooo yummy and I have a steak which was perfectly cooked rare and a tasty piece of meat, while Annie had her usual chicken and chorizo which had amazing tastes and was cooked perfectly. The wines were delicious and the whole meal was reasonably priced. We sat outside with an amazing atmosphere and all the other customers where lovely - a testament to the restaurant. Definitely our cowes go to restaurant.
