A welcome late lunch after a 7 mile loop walk starting from Craster car park over to Dunstanburgh Castle . Superb views from the restaurant but worth booking in advance as it gets very busy. Cosy bar area where you could easily spend a few hours in the winter . Menu was superb especially the Craster kipper pate. Evening menu would be superb for a romantic or family meal.

In the pretty little village of Craster. You generally need to book in advance although they do hold a couple of tables for walk-ins. Choice of seafood is excellent and suits all budgets. I had a special of prawn and crayfish cocktail which had loads of meat for under a tenner and was very tasty. Followed it up with their famous crab sandwich which didn't disappoint, served with a lovely slaw and crisps. Views over the sea and Dunstanburgh Castle from your table (in the restaurant, not bar) make eating here a great experience

Nice little pub food enjoyable not many staff working at the bar taking orders. A little expensive. Lovely views from the beer garden

A honey-pot drawing in tourists/walkers/cyclists. We were there on a busy Bank Holiday Sunday. Outside the main pub there is a fish & chip trailer. Pre-booked customers would be able to access the restaurant & bar. There is limited seating at the front, but lots more at the back with sea views. Dogs are welcome in the beer garden & the bar only. The fish & chips from the van were £13.50 but ENORMOUS! Really, one portion would easily be shared between 2 adults with a healthy appetite.

Craster is a gorgeous village with a beautiful beach and the walk to the castle is stunning. Our visit to The Jolly Fisherman was a highlight of our holiday. We shared the fish board between two of us and it was some of the best fish and seafood I’ve ever had. Everything tasted amazing, so fresh, perfectly prepared, great variety and incredibly filling. Followed up by the crème brûlée which was delectable. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. The views over the sea are perfect, definitely worth sitting outside with a drink if the weather permits. If you’re in the area you should make a point of going, definitely need to book a table but you won’t regret it!

Apart from our seats being right at the top of the stairs, and the absence of any draught Guiness most of this meal lived up to our high expectation. Rich creamy crab soup, a sharing platter with more than enough for two. Nice tastey chips. Our sweet was less impressive, but certainly made a pleasant finish to an excellent selection of seafood. If you want good honest seafood you can't really beat the Jolly's offerings. Ok there may be fancier menus, there may be more luxurious settings, but as a combo for a pleasant evening out with first class simple seafood, I don't think the Jolly can be beaten.

Popped in for lunch today. On arrival, all dog friendly tables were taken, but one soon became available. We would certainly recommend the fish finger sandwich and the cider. A winning combination.

I would advise booking as they do get very busy at peak times especially in the holidays. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, there were eight of us eating and all enjoyed the food. We ate from the Sunday lunch menu but there was a still a good choice of food and a kids menu.

Really good food, although portions could have been slightly bigger. Service was OK, but wasn't the most engaging and we couldn't book a table like others - just do a walk-in, but we were lucky with that. £100 for 4 (3 mains and 1 starter) for 1 course each and drinks. Nice setting and atmosphere. Fish pie main and crab soup starter were very good.

Very busy pub, no parking except a couple for disabled. On Saturday sat outside in the back in the sun. Ordered inside at the bar, the staff were very polite and nice. But the wait was a long time for the food. We also found it a little expensive. My daughter wanted fish and chips from the front of the pub. But be warned, they only took cash or you had to queue again in the pub to pay by card. She enjoyed the fish and chips, £9 for child's fish and chips but a decent size portion.
