Wow!!! What a gorgeous place! The room was just adorable, location was beautiful, the food was amazing and the service was excellent! What a find - highly recommended for anyone looking for a local pub oozing with charm and great value for money!
Booked three rooms for us and family members, they were well all appointed and clean. The evening meal was very good and breakfast was a highlight. I would certainly recommend the Lion
Stopped here whilst just on our way through town after spotting the very nice looking beer garden, finding it to be exactly what you want from a pub in the summer. A proper grassy beer garden next to a river with fields and views of the surrounding hills, a very well done outside bar serving a decent selection of drinks plus wood fired pizzas, and very nice and helpful staff (every single member I met, and far better than normal).
I'd definitely go out of my way to return here.
Went for a midday meal in the restaurant.
The food was excellent and the service from both the bar and restaurant staff was also excellent.
Next time I really must try the outside bbq that look really good, set next to the river.

Stopped here for a quick drink so can't comment on food etc. It seemed a lovely spot for a sunny spring afternoon. The garden is right by the river and overlooks a lovely stone bridge. There seemed to be an outdoor pizza oven so assume this is a nice feature. Indoors was nicely furnished, wooden floors, comfy sofas. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Staff were pleasant.

We were not stopping there, visited for evening meal. Good selection on the menu, dog friendly and well priced. When next in the area we will revisit

I told the young lady who served us, who was very apologetic and asked if we would like a replacement

However, some kind of gesture would have been appreciated ,when paying the bill
