First time visiting Southgate Fish & Chips, and I am very impressed! Service was a little slow because everything was prepared in front of you. No where to sit in and eat, takeaway only.
Although slow, the service was good, a warm welcome and a kind goodbye.

Absolutely superb. From the genuinely friendly & polite welcome, the care taken to cook fish to order and even packing the food carefully, you couldn't ask for more. The freshness and quality of all products is 10/10, excellent value for money. I would rate these guys #1 in the area without a doubt.

Absolutely THE BEST fish & chips in the south east. Cooked perfectly every time. All my family now go here. The staff are really friendly and insightful. Really hope this great little business continues for a very long time!!!

Decided to give Southgate Fish and Chips a try. Just got a portion of chips. Lovely big chips almost roast potato size. Asked if i wanted salt and vinegar to which i replied "just salt please". Sadly i think most of the salt missed the chips but were enjoyable
One of the best fish and chips that I have had here.more than the food it's the warmth of the owners that will pull you in. Hats off to the guys for running the place as is .

My Mum and I came here to grab some food to enjoy in Goffs Park. The new management are very friendly and corteous. Lovely chips, breaded mushrooms, scampi and cod - all freshly and perfectly cooked!

Saw the Trip Advisor ratings for this place and had to try it.. hubby and I both had haddock and chips with mushy peas this evening. Very impressed with everything. Friendly service, very clean and divine fresh fish and chips. So far,i the best I've had in Crawley.
Very nice fish and chips the batter on the cod is always so perfectly crisp and the cod fresh. Every time I go it's consistently good. Chips are also perfect. The owner is such a nice guy polite and have the odd footy chat when he's not to busy. My new local, highly recommended!
Only been here once but the fish and chips are cooked to order and the owners are lovely,friendly and open. Beautifully cooked fish almost to perfection and plenty of nicely cooked chips. Chinese style curry sauce finishes it off if that's your taste?

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and a much better traditional style fish and chip shop than any I can think of in the area.
Beautiful chips. The best curry sauce. Everything was cooked perfectly. The couple are very sweet and friendly they go above and beyond they even put a bag of harribo in with my child's meal. Very genuine nice people who take pride in their food and business.
