While a little off the beaten track, it is worth (like I did) the special effort to visit: this is a brilliant little gem in Crawley. It is what can only be described as forces / veteran friendly, evident in the flags and memorabilia, its support for AF/V charities, and the patrons. But more than that, it has open mic nights, live music, karaoke nights, disco nights, quiz nights, locals (and 'old boys')... all you'd expect from a proper boozer. Talking about expecting, the toilets were far cleaner than expected! What else? Oh: a lovely beer garden (some of it covered and heated), leather wingback seats by the open fire, not a bad selection of drinks (at 'normal' prices).. And Val behind the jump made even me -as an outsider just walking through her doors- feel very welcome indeed!
The swan is proper fantastic local pub with a great community atmosphere and lots of entertainment going on thanks to Publicans Brian and Val making it great again.😊
Great pub. Service is always brilliant. Just a lovely place for a pint and fantastic music as well.
The staff are very good, friendly and helpful. Went on a Friday night to play a league darts match. Team we played are friendly and welcoming. The room we played in quite small and you get people walking in all the time and distraction outside in the hall quite off putting. It's a shame if it gets sorted could be a good place.
Taylor's Landlord, ok, but not exactly contemporary...still, great company out the back.
Love the bird table.
A well maintained old pub with good people. ❤️
Small but really friendly pub with outdoor seating.. very popular with older patrons. .
It often has a disco night, and live performers. All in all a good night out.
My local so visit a lot, needs to have more cask hand pulled beer, this is what the Swan was famous for, rock bands and beer. Atmosphere is still good. And the pride they serve is excellent.
The Swan is one of the last few decent pubs remaining. It has a fantastic range of alcohol, and alcohol free beverages too. There's live music on every Friday and Saturday night. They run a quiz night on Wednesdays, an open mic every other Tuesday and a karaoke event on Thursdays. I'm yet to experience, but other regulars I speak to tell me that Roast dinner on a Sunday is to die for, and Val is usually heavily booked for this. It's in a great location for persons out of Crawley too - a scant 5 minute walk from the station. The staff team are incredibly friendly, and work hard to make it feel like home to any wanderer who may find themselves here. Great log fire as well for cold winter afternoons.
All in all, a great place to be.
Very welcoming local, beautiful beer garden. Val and Brian are brilliant. Good selection of beer and spirits. Get behind this pub and go for a beer. You definitely won't regret it. Love it, cheers 🍻
