Cheshire Cheese

We live in Norfolk but visited Chester zoo and stayed in Crewe. We was trying to find somewhere to eat when we came across Hickorys. They were fully booked but Luke was an absolute diamond and sorted us a table when it became free. The food was amazing! The whole restaurant was spotless and couldn't fault a thing. My husband was chatting to a member of staff, Ben, and as my husband is a chef they allowed him to go see the smoker in the kitchen and even gave him a little gift. This restaurant is absolutely amazing and the staff and management are amazing! Cannot give this restaurant enough credit for everything it offers. Simply fantastic all round.

We have been here on a number of occasions. Great food and great service every time. Most recently, we received an extremely warm welcome. I had said it was one of my childrens' birthdays on the booking and the gentleman greeting us made a huge fuss over him. Orders were taken promptly but without a feeling of being rushed. Our waitress (receipt says her name was "Emily N" was really friendly and great with the kids. Other staff were friendly too; there didn't seem to be an attitude of us not being their table. Food arrived in good time and tasted delicious. It's certainly not a cheap meal out for a family but great good, great staff.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble, they actually have a conversation with you and not just “hi… what do you want” The food was delicious, you definitely get your monies worth and more, it’s quite useful that they provide doggy bags!! Play area for the kids, cinema and free popcorn, you could easily spend a good few hours there and whole family would be more than entertained.
