Went for dinner last night with some friends after reading good reviews, and we weren't disappointed.
Some good choices on the menu - duck, lamb, Venison, and some more traditional fish and chips and steaks. Would have liked to have seen more fish and sea food, but that's just my personal choice.
Service was great, really friendly and helpful, it's nice when someone takes some time to talk to you.
Food was all excellent, I'm not going to recommend anything in particular as it was all 1st rate.
I had the monk fish and mushrooms to start, which were in a delicious cream sauce - it was different and very tasty. Others had the haggis scotch egg and salmon, equally delicious.
For mains, two of us had the lamb, and two had the duck. Both were beautifully cooked with great sauces and veg.
Desserts were equally good.
We've lived in the area for 16 months and struggled to find good places to eat as a lot are geared up to the tourist market, and food and service are poor. It's good to be able to add another restaurant to our 'go-to' list.

A unique experience during our Scotland tour. Excellent service, great atmosphere and the best dinner we have had so far this holiday, from appetizer to dessert. And the cocktails don't have to hide either. Highly recommended.

We went with five people to have lunch yesterday (15/09/23) and had the liveliest food, which was superbly presented.

We loved this place. Came here on 2 seperate occasions and explored the way extensive menu. The burgers are awesome, the salmon delicious, but the haggis scotch egg was the star of the show for me. The service is friendly and enthusiastic. I hope to go back soon even though it's over 200 miles away !

Amazing traditional Scottish food with a modern twist! We shared various small plates...every plate was a treat! Particularly loved the braised beef in Irn bru!!! The staff were really lovely!

Wasn’t sure what to expect but very pleasantly surprised. Food was outstanding, service was exceptional and the playlists in the background topped it all off. Highly recommended and will definitely return when we’re back.

Stopped by for lunch on a Sunday on a whim. Amazing place. Fantastic menu. Very reasonably priced. Fab decor. Food was outstanding. But the very best bit was the staff on duty. Lovely lovely lovely people. It was clear that many of the regular customers were fond of the staff who took time with them and had fantastic rapport. Not sure what the staff are being paid but whatever it is it isn’t enough. They were nothing short of perfect. Thankyou.

Had a meal here with friends and 5 lively kids
Firstly, the staff were outstanding. So good with the kids and very helpful. Really makes the experience special when the staff are pleasant, and the staff here are great!
The food….. everything we ordered was delicious. Nobody left a morsel. Quality ingredients and very well prepared.
One of the best meals I’ve had in Scotland.
