Khana Peena Restaurant

Tried a take away from here as half price on Sunday - result! The restaurant was quiet. Very clean and tidy place. Welcoming. Staff very polite and friendly. Portion sizes were good. Good flavours, hot (temperature - I hate cold ir tepid food), and actually very tasty. I'd return for half price definitely. We ordered veg curry and mixed grill with some sides.

The food yesterday was absolutely excellent, as was the service. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our small office group from the URC, out of normal hours, and just before Christmas. I'm looking forward to bringing my family here and thoroughly recommend it! I'm no expert on Indian cuisine, but was in a group with many people who were, and they all found it excellent and thoroughly enjoyed their meal there. It was recommended to me by a colleague, and I'm so happy I didn't read some of the reviews here first!

Decent enough but if your Indian and used to amazing Indian food you'll find that this place really caters for all of the local population. There's nothing wrong with that is just that it leaves a bit more to be desired for me. Overall this place is good to eat in although in the past I have had to sit next to some undesirables that have decided to get tanked up and go for a curry. Take out is half price before 7.30 pm but remember to take cash. If you want more go to the Khyber.

Went to Khana Peena for an anniversary meal. We have been going here for over 10 years but last night was a real let down. The restaurant was very under staffed and disorganised. We waited over 30 mins to place our order and when the waiter did come over he was bordering on rude and very disinterested. The food was OK at best and not nearly to the standard we have come to expect over the years. When the food did arrive, one of the side dishes was missing. We asked if it was coming and we're told it was a mistake and that there would be another on the way. Overall the food was poorly presented and really below par. Our previous visit a few weeks ago was not as good as we expected but we thought we would give it a fair chance, but after last night I think it's time to look for a new Indian restaurant.

Went here with my partner on a Sunday evening. Was welcomed very well and the manager even went around to all the tables to see if everything was satisfactory. Usually when we go out our meal including drinks comes to roughly £60/70. However puts came to £35 which was amazing we did use one of the deals on offer, but it was still an amazing price for the food we got. I do think the starts are a bit overpriced as me and my partner ordered a chicken and lamb tikka each but only got 5/6 pieces of meat which was accompanied by a large amount of salad to reduce the space on the plate. Overall the service was good and I did enjoy my time at the restaurant. Would go back again
