Went in for lunch with my wife
Friendly service, comfortable. I had a smoked salmon, cream cheese and rocket leaf sandwich on local granary bread which came with a good leafy salad. The sandwich was huge and well made. My wife had the quiche of the day, which went down well and she couldn't finish it, which is fine.
We thought the tea wasn't strong enough but I guess it's a question of personal taste. I wouldn't say it was cheap: over £25.

Excellent coffee. The flat white was hot instead of the usual barely hot. Very friendly service and cozy atmosphere. Would like to come back to eat sometime.

What a lovely place, very friendly and very welcoming to dogs! Excellent coffee, homemade soup and delicious cheese and chive scones. The atmosphere was great, thoroughly enjoyed it all and wish I had somewhere like this where I live. Thank you!

Met a friend for coffee.... First time here. Lovely little café... Great atmosphere and very welcoming staff. Only had coffee, so I can't comment on the food... although judging by how the food looked that was coming out for other people... I'd definitely come back and eat next time!

Amazing food and service as always. Great place to stop and break the journey down to cornwall. It's one of our favourite places to eat..highly recommend it!

Found this lovely little coffee shop from the Extra Mile book, 5 minutes off the M5 and free on street parking for an hour, we went for the scones with jam & cream and a cappuccino, definitely worth the drive off the motorway the scones were delicious and the cappuccinos were excellent. All the staff were friendly and welcoming ,the place was clean as were the toilets, will definitely call in again when we find ourselves down that way.

Wow! What a find we called in at Cullompton to break our journey down to Plymouth.
We were looking forward to a light lunch, The Bakehouse was the first cafe/restaurant we came across, how lucky were we.
We were immediately greeted and offered a really nice table in the window, the menu is extensive offering light bites to main meals, coffee and cake or a selection of cream teas.
I couldn't resist the mushrooms in a cheesy cream sauce on toasted soda bread which was delicious, my husband had a cheese and ham sandwich, to describe the bread as doorstep is an understatement the cheese was cut into thick slices as was the ham, served with an impressive side salad, we both gasped when it arrived as did other customers when their sandwiches duly arrived, our 'light lunches' were so filling we didn't bother with supper that evening.
The ambience is fabulous the dining room down the corridor by the toilets is worth a visit its very cosy, and perfect for for larger groups of customers.
I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough,it will certainly become a regular stop for us when travelling past, its a 10min drive from the motorway junction with a very good carpark right behind the towns main street.
We have already decided to call in next Saturday at the end of our week's holiday on our way home.

What a lovely place. Super friendly service, fresh & tasty food, and decent cocktail selection too. Keep an eye out for the specials board. There’s extra seating at the back. Highly recommend!

My husband and I went to the bakehouse this evening (steak night) to celebrate our Anniversary. From the minute we walked in we were very well looked after. The service and the meal we had was absolutely 100%. Steak cooked to perfection for both of us. Top night in a top establishment. Well done the Bakehouse.
