Very honest review...
Despite the bad reviews I saw, I decided to bring my Dad here as we took him for a weekend break to a nearby hotel for his birthday. This was November 2021.
At first, we were hesitant as we were the only ones in the restaurant and the staff seemed a little off although I had booked in advance to make sure they accommodate us. Not sure what that was about...
Once we placed our drinks order, our waiter happily walked us through the menu and let us know of any alternatives we could have. We opted for the eat as much as you can option and I was so happy we did. We had the starter platter as pictured but that's the only picture I could get as everything else that touched the table was wolfed down! I mean, wow! The food came super quick which I was apprehensive about but the flavours were amazing! We could get as many food refills as we liked as long as we could eat it and as someone previously stated, the waiter's banter was great!
Oh.... and a big thing for me, the toilets were super clean!
We made sure we left them a lovely tip and they were even happy to take a picture of us.
DEFINITELY coming back sooner than they think😁
China Palace was a good discovery for me. A quiet, classy Chinese restaurant, with reasonable prices. It's Cantonese through and through, from the entrance porch, to the tables and ambience.
Location maybe a bit tricky, depending on where you're coming from but whether it's a couples' or family outing, it's worth it.
Meals were well prepared and tasty. Not crowded like the traditional Chinese restaurants tend to be. The look and quality of the place is a lot higher than the expected cost of meals.
The receptionist was highly professional and experienced, and service was great. Meals took only about 10 - 15mins to arrive.
I would definitely recommend and visit this place again, whenever I come through this part of the UK.
Absolutely fantastic. Extremely accommodating. The staff are so lovely. The food is amazing. I'm a vegetarian with a nut allergy and they always make sure I get a great portion size and great selection of veggie food. Could not fault them at all. Would recommend to everyone.
Delicious food as ever. Been going here for the last 8yrs and seen it through various new owners but I think they've maintained the chef or kept the recipes cos the taste remains unchanged.
Absolutely recommended. My girlfriend is veggie and has a nut allergy but they accommodated so well. Staff have plenty of banter, was honestly one of the best experiences I've had out in years. Food was delicious and if you wanted more they brought you more no questions asked. Showed us how to use chopsticks properly too which was a disaster lol. Worth every penny.
Been here a few times now. Always a great evening. Nice buffet food and price is good.
Notary places where you 2 people can eat all they want and have 6 - 8 drinks for under £100 quid.
Lovely place to eat. Staff are welcoming and try to engage with you. Had all you can eat service but felt like service was slow. Our outcome is if you want something don't expect to be approached call for someone .
People are always quick to comment on bad experiences, as supposed to giving credit when due..... for a first visit... i have to say this is now in my top 10 resturants of all time. from food quality, to customer service and hospitality.. despite it being a quiet night on a sunday evening...
credit to the waiters and the chiefs. will most definitely be visiting again 😊
The best Chinese restaurant in the area. We live in Datchet and absolutely love the place for both sit in and take away. Really great value, service and the food is always excellent
Came here to celebrate husband's birthday. Party of 8, £20 per head for the buffet menu which included lots of vegetarian options for my step daughter. It was busier than I thought it would be for a Tuesday night but service and food were really good.
Would recommend and would go again.
