4 of us had takeaway before going to local theatre. 3 of us had the haddock and chips, and 1 had the small cod and chips. The portions were generous, in fact the haddock had to be cut to fit into the takeaway carton. We were all pleased with the food. The restaurant was closed but we weren't going to use it anyway. It is away from the main holidaymaker area and therefore seems to cater for the locals trade.
Great food, would have to go a long way to find better.

Amazing Fish & Chips. Well worth the visit.
Lovely, tasty cod, chips and pea fritter, perfectly cooked. Staff were warm, friendly, welcoming and accommodating to requests. I found the small portion was enough for one and reasonably priced, so I don’t understand comments complaining that portions are small and prices are high. Comments probably made by greedy people. If you like your fish and chips, give this place a try.

Awesome fish n chips...... I was out with a group of six lads looking for a decent bite to eat and we found it. Tim who served us was a top man. He let us bring in our own drinks (beer) and chatted away being super friendly. Great service and top notch grub!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cod was lovely. The thick pieces of fish were amazing. Friendly staff. Batter on the sausage wasn't crispy otherwise 5 stars. Cash machine just outside which was handy as they only accept cash! Prices were. Good too. Thank you.

My family and I began living in Dawlish in 2016 and due to family issues, we hadn't found or been able to enjoy a decent fish and chips meal until towards the end of 2017! We decided to give Chips A'Hoy a try after disappointing experiences elsewhere and we were not let down by this delicious experience! With a very generous portion of fish and chips per customer, I had a wonderful dinner and then some for leftovers later that evening which still tasted amazing! Fresh, clean and not soggy at all after getting salt and vinegar, I think we've found our dream chippy that is not only tasty but well-priced. My mother who suffered poorly from cancer wanted to give thanks but did not have a google account, so I'm replying to let you know tonight's dinner was very much appreciated. <3
Excellent gluten-free fish and chips.
We travelled some distance to get gluten-free fish and chips and were not disappointed. Light and crispy batter and moist, perfectly cooked fish.
