“Eating well gives a spectacular joy to life and contributes immensely to goodwill and happy companionship.“ – Elsa Schiaparelli. With the above in mind, I decided to commence a 4 day eating and drinking extravaganza to welcome the milestone that was my 30th birthday!. Opening the show was a visit to a local pub/restaurant situated in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, on the outskirts of the beautiful Delamere forest, called The Fishpool Inn. On its website The Fishpool states that their “environmentally friendly, open fronted kitchen is a hive of creativity where our passionate, talented chefs work their magic as they cook freshly prepared meals using only the finest, locally sourced ingredients.”
Beautiful building and decor. Sat outside in the sunshine enjoying drinks and food. Service is a little slow and they bought us the wrong order but it was still a lovely experience. Food is a little pricey for what it is but I would recommend for a visit!
We had a great first time at The Fishpool Inn and will definitely be back. The food was lovely and well presented. All staff were pleasant and accomodating. We brought a birthday cake and the lady we spoke to (we think a manager) was happy to help us with this. They brought it out at a good time complete with a sparkler candle! They even brought over a cake knife and plates! Thank you Fishpool.
10 out of 10 in every area. Couldn't fault the service - attentive, friendly, courteous. The food was fresh, well presented, and tasted beautiful. The restaurant itself was absolutely stunning, very clean, and has great amenities. I look forward to returning again.
Great food, fast service. Lovely place and outdoor area. Best truffle parm fries I've had in ages! Service standard could do with a bit of work but overall good. Will definitely be returning!
Dropped in, having never been before, for lunch and to work. The pub was fully booked and busy but the manager kindly found me a table near the bar after originally being told there was no room at the inn.
Had a superb pizza and half a pint of Westwood Ales Cheshire Cat Blonde, which was fab.
I’d definitely visit again for a meal and book ahead. I really appreciated them letting me work for a couple of hours , as it’s really not that kind of place. It’s a fab foodie destination.
First impressions were that this looked like a very nice restaurant & pub & having the menu available online was useful to check if we could eat there. However the front of house staff weren't very welcoming when we entered, they didn't acknowledge us & when we spoke to them rather than responding verbally they just showed us to a table. The wait staff definitely made up for this initial poor show though. Knowledgeable staff member, who when she didn't know about one question quickly found out the answer. There is an excellent & varied menu & drinks list. Including good options for those with special dietary needs. The food was delicious & even the kids portions were a good size. We had a main meal each & a drink & the bill came to ~£80 (2 adults, 3 kids).
Beautiful place with amazing food! Much needed after a weekend of visiting 2 other pubs that had served atrocious food!
We are going to be coming a lot more often now!!!
Can't recommend highly enough!
On the way to a cabin in the woods on a Monday afternoon, we drove past the Fishpool Inn and noticed how busy the carpark was, I made a note as I was planning to book a meal for 9 fussy people with various requirements aged from 1-81. Later in the week we arrived and enjoyed a good range of dishes, including fish and chips, superfood salad, lasagne, pork belly and the pie of the day. There were only compliments all round from the demanding folks in my party, and the pork belly, well, it was some of the best I've had. It is one of my fave dishes and it surpassed my expectations, it tasted better than it looks, and it looks superb. The staff were all friendly and attentive, oh, and not forgetting the design, decor and grounds, exceptionally executed design vision, a kind of bougie hunters lodge on steroids. Loved it, I look forward to visiting again, I would drive 3 hours from my house just for that pork belly.
Had a lovely steak and ale pie with chips, along with a knickerbocker glory. Good service, reasonable price and pleasant decor.
We turned up without a reservation, huge thank you to them for accommodating us. We had never been before but the service and food will definitely bring us back.
It got very busy within an hour of us arriving at 12pm so would recommend booking in advance.
There were 6 of us who enjoyed the meal. Our waitress Eve was brilliant and really looked after us. We even named my dessert after her. The Fishpool Eve Surprise. It was delicious 😋
