Just the loveliest meal after a long day and Paula (and Jay) made us feel hugely welcome. We had the steak and ale pie and couldn't have been happier when they had all our favorite desserts on the menu 😍.
Lovely pub, very friendly. Bit overstretched the evening we called as training a new member of staff. Nice range of beers and nice seating area outside
A traditonal pub - good range of beer, lager and cider. Friendly locals and staff. Car parking limited on street but you can use the village hall car park and pay using the on site "honesty box" - only used it for a drink but it is a goodplace for a quiet pint and a chat⁷
Great country pub. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Staff were friendly and attentive.
I had the steak and ale pie which was delicious along with the lovely Guinness. Mrs had the chicken which she described as delicious and moist.
All in all we had a great evening. Will definitely visit again.
It was a cosy little place to hide from the rain than had drenched us the whole day. The barman also allowed us to use a charger for my phone. Friendly service. Nice chilled pints too.
The welcome was friendly and the pub is comfortable and tastefully furnished. There were four ales on the bar as well as a choice of national keg beers. The lunch menu is mid priced with a good selection of light meals and sandwiches price at around £7/£8 but chips are an extra £3. Main meal priced from £10.95.
Food was fine but Gammon steak was generous but reported as very salty. Service wasn't quick but, again friendly and helpful.
Absolutely fantastic pub, after a busy day at Alton Towers this was perfect wind down, lovely and friendly staff, cold beer and great home made pizza, will definitely be retuning next time I'm near this area, 5 stars all round!
Lovely traditional country local pub. Lovely location great Guinness. Poor background music choice. Lots of clean comfy seating to people watch.
What a gorgeous country pub. There is a bar area which seems to have a good atmosphere with people actively popping in after a dog walk and then there is a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and great food.
I am Coeliac and I had a few options for dinner which was pleasantly surprising. I had pizza which is entirely homemade and cooked in a pizza oven. It was quite possibly the best pizza I've had and the burgers looked great too.
The highlight was probably the service. We had 2 friendly waitresses who were happy to help and checked over dietary requirements with us. All in all, a great find.
Delicious Sunday lunch, great choice in drinks. Lovely atmosphere. Very pleased with our visit.
