Denton County Independent Hamburger

I find it hard to believe let alone read some of these other reviews. I just finished having my first burger here and it was nothing like I expected. I heard it was extremely greasy but good, which I was kind of looking forward to, but it was far from that. The bun was toasted and was the redeeming quality of the burger, however the patty itself was so so and not very hot which could not melt the heaping amount of cold shredded cheese on the burger. There was more cheese on the burger than actual meat. I also got bacon on it for an extra .89 which was good, but not good enough to save this wrecked burger. In my optimistic state I ordered the dinner with the beans, french fries and drink for a total of $10.xx The beans were not that great, very runny and were luke warm at best. The french fries were decent, seems like they use real potatoes and not bag fries but I could be mistaken. However it seems like they purposely make a batch perfect and another burnt then mix them altogether in the big basket for the customer. Very weird. The atmosphere is alright, seems like mainly seniors and regular customers. I can't imagine they get too many new customers given the quality of the food I had. IMO, the best burger in DFW is at Jakes. Poppy seed buns do wonder for a burger.
