I never write reviews for restaurants, however after our meal last night i felt compelled too write one for this lovely little place! Me and my boyfriend heard about this place through some of his work friends (clearly the word is spreading!), and we decided to give it a go. You are able to bring your own wine, which was really lovely! It really is a tiny place, but packed with so much atmosphere- there was a man playing the piano in the corner. The waitress was lovely, and explained the menu to us- on there was 3 starters, 3 mains and various puddings. We chose a pasta and prawn dish to start, along with an avocado mozarella and tomato salad. Neither dish i could fault, both were so tastey! For mains we had sea bream, and a chicken dish- Both with vegetables. Again, so so tasty. What made the whole experience lovely is that you can see Reno cooking your food, as the kitchen is pretty much open for you to see. Everything was made fresh, and was really interesting to watch. We were too full for pudding, but Reno sent us over some little sweet bites of wafer and creamed ricotta- we were told what they were called, but i can't remember now! They were lovely though, and just what we needed as neither of us could've finished a whole desert. A lovely little touch. We then sat leisurely and finished our wine, we did not feel rushed or a need to finish up. Reno came over the chat to us, and you can see he really is enthusiastic and loves what he does. Towards the end of the evening, someone from another group of people started to play the piano and sing. Reno joined in, and turns out he is a dab hand at not just cooking, but singing too. If you want amazing food, a personal touch, and something different, please give this place a go. Reno told us they are opening the basement soon to cater for more people- clearly the word is spreading about this place, and we will certainly be spreading the word too. x
We came for our staff Christmas meal on Saturday night and absolutely could not fault anything, the staff were lovely, the food was beautiful and the atmosphere was really warm and intimate. We felt very special and would definitely recommend to anyone!
Truely amazing restaurant, excellent, freshly prepared food, lovely host, menu changes each day. Even gave me and my friend a birthday desert with a candle and sang happy birthday. Highly recommend this restaurant
What an amazing place! I’ve been to Italy and since then no other restaurant in the UK could compare. Until we discovered Dolce Salato. All of the food is authentically Italian, the service is great and the Italian owner is so lovely and accommodating. Would recommend to book a table as it gets very busy (every time we’ve been here there wasn’t a spare table), but trust me it’s worth it. The menu is quite small which confirms all ingredients are fresh and made on the day.
Our first time this evening "What a gem" I almost don't want to tell anyone about this place because we may find it to busy to book super service the young lady who serviced us could not of been more helpful The service - food and atmosphere was just great.
A little experience compared to some places but absolutely worth it.
Definitely will be returning ☺ 😊
What an incredible place! I've visited Italy and since then, no other restaurant in the U.K. has come close. Until now, we had failed to recognize Dolce Salato. All of the food is genuine Italian food, the service is exceptional and the Italian owner is very nice and considerate. I'd advise people to reserve a table as it's very occupied (the first time we visited, there was not a spare table), but trust me it's beneficial. The menu is limited to a small number of dishes, which indicates that all of the ingredients are fresh and were prepared on the day.
Food was beautiful so full of flavour and quite light the owners were so polite and accommodating definitely recommend. The decor of the restaurant is very warming. Depending where you're sat you can see right into the kitchen and it's great to watch your food being prepared.
Visited for the first time this evening to celebrate my birthday. Lovely atmosphere & the food was delicious - linguini, sea bass & lemon tart to finish. There was a gentleman playing the piano which enhanced the atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.
Amazing place, food is absolutely on point and the staff was lovely. Authentic, well cooked Italian food can be hard to find over here and, as an Italian myself, I've got to say this place absolutely delivers. Beautifullly cooked to perfection. 5 stars, 10/10, couldn't find fault in anything.
What a lovely little gem this place is. Such a cosy atmosphere, perfect for a date night, fantastic tasty food that was plentiful, lovely friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble.
I highly recommend

Wonderful atmosphere. We had a great night, we will definitely be returning soon.
Really really really tasty food great accomodating staff. Small restaurant with lots of character. The chap playing a piano really added to the atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
