Stumbled upon this place whilst escaping my hotel as I was suffering from cabin fever!!
The staff were very friendly and quite happy to inform me about their daily work routine and their routine getting to and from work! However down to the real review.
The chef had some pictures of himself with members of royalty so clearly he has cooked for those who would be deemed important...well he has now as I have been in there ;-)
They are only open until 3pm but do a good breakfast range, Butler's Full English Breakfast, Butler's 6 item Breakfast, Smoked salmon with scrambled egg on toast or muffin and so the list goes on.
The lunch menu includes a signature dish which has pigeon in it, which I was reliably informed tasted exquisite. The rest of the lunch menu BLT's, chicken strips and steak dishes.
So dependent upon how hungry you were there was plenty to choose from.They also served alcohol so you could have lunch time tipple if that was your fancy.
Whilst it is a small tea room area they clearly did a lot of off site catering from the coming and goings I witnessed for the time I was there. Sandwich platers came and went along with equipment to keep hot food hot.
So if you need a caterer who can provide good external services you could do worse than here.
We hired The Butlers Pantry to do our wedding catering (wedding breakfast and evening). The whole experience was lovely and very easy and they helped us plan the menu and gave us the benefit of their expertise on food choices.
The food on the day was amazing!
They also were really helpful in adapting quickly on the day to two vegetarian guests who hadn't advised us of their dietary requirements and would have gone without main course and evening food.
Very happy with our choice of caterers.
If I get an invite that says the Butlers Pantry is doing the catering them I can guarantee I will be attending.
I also used Butlers Pantry for a networking event, and we sent folks on their way with individual lunch boxes. One delegate told me "it was the best sausage roll I have tasted in my life".
As a vegetarian I always appreciate the diversity of offering for my dietary requirements too.

Butler's Pantry catered for the lunch for 15 of us at our house. Everything worked like clockwork from the booking process with Helen to the cooking by chef Ralph. His two youthful helpers were polite and efficient. They met our needs exactly and provided a supurb meal to satisfy our discerning guests.

They were professional, extremely capable, the food was well cooked & presented beautifully.

We booked Butlers Pantry to come and cook a three course meal for our party of 16 whilst away for the weekend. The service was fantastic from the original booking, choosing our menu choices and cooking that evening at our holiday accommodation. The food was amazing and no one was disappointed. We would definitely recommend them and would use them again in the future.
There was a huge choice to pick from to suit most tastes.
Highly recommend The Butlers Pantry. We made the booking for an evening meal whilst away in a barn for my daughter's hen party. Service from booking to the dinner party itself was excellent. No problem was too small. Food was delicious, staff very friendly and helpful and all guest commented on how well the evening went. We would definitely use the company again.
This is our second time using Butlers Pantry for our family reunion as we were so impressed with the first, but my first being the organiser.
Fantastic experience from start to finish. From Helen helping to organise the catered meal in a venue we were hiring, to Ralph calmly working out the logistics of cooking in one property and serving in another, very calm, friendly and professional. The set up, service, food and clear up was all 5 star. Would not hesitate to recommend.
Ralph was an integral part of our wedding and we can't thank him enough! From day one, he went above and beyond to ensure we devised the tastiest food options and our guests were blown away by the afternoon tapas choices and the main courses of smoked beef and locally caught trout. It was mouth-wateringly tasty!
Ralph was so much more than a caterer to us - he was always there to reassure, offer advice and take away any stresses by ensuring everything went smoothly (something we needed when planning a wedding during a pandemic!). What a gent, he's super talented and passionate about food, you must book him for any parties or gatherings - he can do it all!
Used for our wedding and they provided excellent service. They were very thorough in ensuring everything was accessible to all (vegan, gluten free etc) and were able to adapt to our requests. Food was delicious too. Would gladly recommend them.
We were lucky enough to have booked Ralph to cater our wedding a few weeks ago, and we couldn't have asked for better! He provided a bespoke 5 course dinner option for us on-board the Merry Freddie, including canapés and cocktails - it was all perfection! I would highly recommend The Butler's Pantry for any occasion 🎉
