El Contador

Friendly and helpful staff. Good atmosphere. Food was good. I had the beef brisket tacos, which weren’t spicy at all but that was fine for me. Average portion sizes, which probably wouldn’t be enough for those with an average to larger appetite. The loaded nachos looked great but were dusted with something that made them overly salty... No serviettes nor cutlery was provided (unsure if the was standard or just an error). There was a slightly reduced menu running at the time of visiting, which limited choice a little, but I’d go back to try some other dishes if I’m in the area again.

El Contador catered our wedding day and not only were they great with preparing a menu to suit our tastes but also ensured everyone’s dietary requirements were met. Having El Contador for our wedding meal was the best choice everyone said how much they loved their meals and it made our day being able to tuck into a big burrito! Would highly recommend the lovely Shane and Sarah to cater your special day as it is the cherry on top of the cake.

I have just been to El Contador for a quick lunchtime snack..... wow... that was no snack, the portion of Nachos was amazing with layers of Nachos, Pork, cheese and salad. Amazing flavours and the owners are lovely. Thank you so much for a fantastic lunch, I just had to put a review on straight away for you.

Popped in for a quick bite..if you want fresh home cooked and filling food this is the place for you! Thought nachos would be light but wow the portions are so generous . Everything is made fresh, the guacamole the salsa even the jalapenos are boiled and pickled by them. Amazing experience!!! Thankyou

Amazing little place to grab something tasty to eat. Nice, friendly service with some great quality food In the centre of Derby. Reasonably priced with a nice homemade, personal feel. The chicken tacos were great and I've heard good things about the burrito bowls too. They accept card as well as cash and will make everything to your preference. All in all, 100% recommended and I will be back 😊

As big fans of Mexican cuisine we decided to order from here last night, intrigued by a new Mexican takeaway option. Myself and my boyfriend were both thoroughly pleased! Although a couple of small items were unavailable they more than made up for it; not only did we get free drinks but we got a little extra of everything including chilli, salsa, salad and tortilla chips. Really impressed with the vegan selection - veg chilli, jackfruit and vegan cheese nacho (sadly couldn't try that this time as was out of stock but the other two were delicious!!) And my boyfriend loved the chicken taco and the burrito bowl. The jackfruit taco was a gorgeous mix of flavours, spicy but not too spicy. Hot sauce came with it for those who prefer spicier! The salsa was super authentic and way better than any shop bought. One question - is your Mexican rice vegan, as it looked vegan but wasn't listed as vegan? I thought the note apologising for the missing items was absolutely lovely and really made me smile 😁❤
