Took my mum for a birthday treat. As usual the fish and chips were beautiful, piping hot freshly cooked as they should be. They are shortly opening a shop with an attached restaurant which will be great can't wait. Staff were very welcoming. We ate them in the shop as mum isn't too good on her legs. They do have a couple of tables to use. Thoroughly recommend George's fish and chips.

Clean, even throughout the lunchtime rush the lady who works there with the black hair kept everything clean, tidy, serving, cooking, managing customers expectations so easily! (I feel so rude as I didn’t catch her name sorry!) what a credit to the business, she handled every customer with grace, rushed off her feet they both was busy preparing, cooking and serving, the front of house lady has worked there 7 years! I had to tell her she was doing a fabulous job. George’s you are lucky to have her!

Still the best chippy for me. You can pop in to order, go online, in the app or call them on the phone. They can change a set menu order if you don't want something. Wonderful staff, always super friendly. You can eat in and the dividers at the till area have been removed 👍 There's a park 1 minute away for alfresco dining 😁

Fantastic fish. Always so fresh and tender. Chips usually perfect but tonight some were lovely and fresh but almost half looked like they were sitting around for a long time, brown and soggy. Please consider chucking out the old nasties and serve your customers the fresh stuff to keep your 5 star rating!

My fave chippy! Lovely fresh food cooked to order and batter is always crisp, never soggy or overly greasy. Good portion sizes and cheaper than my local chippy. Will be going back!

Consistently good fish and chips. The meal deals are cheap enough and while they are not the largest portions they fill a hole and are great quality.
Staff are generally friendly and they seem to enjoy their work for the most part which always comes across well as a customer.

Without doubt the best fish and chips in the area, super tasty and excellent service. Can eat in if so desire but only a small eating area. The decor and lighting is unusual. Parking is at the back of the shop.

Lovely fish and chips! Very tasty and super hot - still hot when I got back to Alvaston. Really quick service. The large cod is very large but you get just the right amount of chips with it so it is not too much. Peas were good too...not watery and just the right amount.
