I happened upon this place after a member of staff was giving out free samples of their food. She was really helpful regarding information on allergens in the food and it turned out I was able to eat here. I had the fish bites and my friend had the chicken bites, both with chips. The food was piping hot, cooked to perfection and delicious. I highly recommend a visit here.

Each time I ask if the curry is suitable for vegetarians and they know straight away which is amazing (I ask due to other companies changing their ingredients but this one doesn't seem to do that).
I order a chip and curry mix, they asked if I wanted my curry on top or in a pot which was nice of them, I had it all over which did make the chips quite soggy so next time I might add it myself gradually.
Quick and easy, lots of vegetarian options. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try fish, chips, halloumi or other "chip shop style" type food.
Staff were friendly too
It’s lovely food. The chips have a very tasty layer of batter on them; which makes them very flavoursome. Fish cake and beans- you can’t go wrong with them. The price is good to. Staff are friendly and you get served very quick, no queues to worry about. Don’t forget the dandelion and burdock!
First time ordering from there, utterly delicious, soft, moist cod that collapses in the mouth. The thin batter on the chips is very nice, and I had my first experience with a battered mars bar. If I have a heart attack tonight, I just want to say: no regrets.

You won't any other fish and chip plaice like it especially with their lightly battered chips.
I have NEVER had chips and mushy peas like it! Lightly battered chips are stunning, the mushy peas were so tasty (not dry) and so fresh.
Everytime the staff sample the chips, I always say 'I'd love to try one as never had them' but my son always drops me in it and replies 'yes she has, she always comes here' lol thanks Jayen!

I popped into the Derby Intu store and was very impressed with the friendly member of staff, the service was with a smile. The chips tasted great full of flavour. If you haven't tried this place i would recommend you do.
Currently on a weightloss health kick, so I went for a chicken kebab in a wrap with lots of salad and passed on the chips. Was one of the best kebabs I've had in Derby the chicken tikka is so tasty! Next time I fancy a kebab I'm going to order from tasty plaice rather than one of the kebab shops. Blonde front of house girl who served me was really nice and made sure everything was made exactly how I wanted it.
Staff friendly, they have an actual veggie option, rather than just "salad" which is always a bonus. Staff are always polite and smiley. Had my first issue with this place yesterday when they, by mistake gave me a pork sausage rather than veggie sausage. But were apologetic when my boyfriend went to query it.
Good selection, fish and chips obviously, but also saveloys and kebab options. The chips have a light batter on them, which is interesting for a change but I still prefer classic chips. Portion size a little small perhaps.
