Maybe a different day a different person will have better luck. I sat at the counter, and somehow still managed to get very poor service from my waitress. All the regulars got greetings and small talk while I barely received a hello, or a chance to order in a pretty much empty diner. Food was not awesome, but it was diner eggs, bacon, and sausage noting stood out as horrible or great. Can get the same par food with better service elsewhere.
