Sabatino's North

I dinned twice before I gave a solid review. Given covid, short staffing issues everywhere and tight supply in demand I thought it was only fair. Both times my family and I were disappointed. The flavors of the food fall extremely short and the prices are very high for small portions. My family is from Abruzzo Italy and normally we don't dine out and eat Italian but they claim to be authentic Italian from the original North End Boston. Tonight we came to celebrate my nonnas birthday, the service was decent but again the food quality falls short. Bland food, with American flare not Italian. I ordered the Chicken Sabatino and there was so much lemon in my pasta it was almost not edible.The tiramisu tastes like cheesecake, one of the other desserts was spumoni and it had the paper from the pan served in the bowl. Gross.There's just no love in the food here. Also, we spent $300 and our server new we were there for an 86th birthday- they couldn't even comp the 86 year old birthday girls dessert? They didn't even have a candle for us. Not Italian etiquette at all. Unfortunately cheap food at a high price is served here.

Every experience we’ve ever had here was great but we were here tonight on a Friday and people started cleaning at 9:40 even though they don’t close until 10. Heavily sweeping and cleaning the bar while we were still eating…a mop bucket in the dining room….so different than any night when Joe is bartending. Super uncomfortable.We’ll give it one more try.

Sabatinos, I am impressed. First time going was tonight. Our waitress was phenomenal. Positive attitude, great customer service, very sweet and even continued smiling at me even when I confronted her about a $4 Fusili upcharge which was just a miscommunication. She was kind and apologietic and kept her game face on the whole time. Studly. Low key atmosphere, not rushed or unorganized. Relaxing, enjoyable, Italian dining... Oh, and the food was incredible too. Bread with oil... Arincinis with stuffed chicken Parm and homemade pasta... All a 10/10. After finishing desert with a cup of coffee, I officially decided- I will most definitely be coming back.
