Thoroughly enjoyed Afternoon Tea at Petals Tea Room this afternoon. I had the Gentleman’s Tea (consisting of a sausage roll, a slice of pork pie, a savoury tart, a selection of finger sandwiches and two cheese scones complete with cream cheese and chilli jam all washed down with a lovely Earl Grey.
The place itself is beautiful, with the cutest vintage cups & saucers. It’s wonderfully decorated and we had the perfect seat by the window, enjoying the sunshine!
My two friends enjoyed the English Rose Tea which was the normal finger sandwiches, scones and a selection of cakes - this also looked amazing!
I also purchased some cakes for my Hubby and two girls and they’ve thoroughly enjoyed them this evening!
A gorgeous, quaint little tea shop with friendly staff and very tasty food on offer; what more can you want?!
Would highly recommend to anyone and everyone - thank you!!!

What a lovely way to spend a couple of hours on a snowy afternoon. A wonderful warm welcome and warm sofa by the fire. Really enjoyed their own blend of tea, in a proper pot, and homemade cakes, served on vintage China. Beautiful furnished and decorated tearoom a, and the prettiest toilet I have seen! Would highly recommend Petals tea rooms, and will be back!
Friendly service and the most delicious proper homemade scones I’ve tasted outside of a home. All cakes, sausage rolls, marmite sausage rolls, date brownies, clementine and rhubarb Victoria sponge to name but a few of the yummy treats are baked on the premises by one of the owners. Worth a detour for!
Absolutely fantastic! We had one vegan and one gluten free afternoon tea, which were both delicious. The scones especially were phenomenal.
Contacted Petals on the off chance that they might have options available for us yesterday and they couldn't have been more accommodating. The owners are lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back.
Thank you for a lovely experience x
A nice little find. However, Caesar salad was served on a smallish plate and consisted of lettuce leaves, croutons (cubes of toast?), salad dressing and grated parmesan. Seemed scant and expensive at £11. It was tasty, though.
The pot of loose leaf Assam tea was delicious and the staff very friendly. Service was fairly slow, presumably waiting for the jacket potato to bake.
Would return for delicious cakes and more Assam!
What a wonderful place this is. A warm welcome from the friendly staff, a wonderful selection of homemade cakes, scones, sandwiches and more. The best part for me is that they have a great selection of gluten free cakes and always at least one vegan option. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Went in for tea and cake and they are so welcoming, and didn't rush us at all (which we really appreciated)
The homemade cake selection is absolutely amazing and whilst we didn't have any of the savoury options they all looked very tasty and I will be going back there soon to try out more!
Lovely bright and airy building, with parking onsite (if you are in a wheelchair though I would recommend parking on the street by Petals as the stones in the carpark may make it hard to wheel through (not a criticism, just for information). Fully accessible.
Last, but definitely not least the gentleman that served us was so nice and checked on us throughout.
Highly recommend and we will be back soon (I will get photos to add next time!)
This review is long over due. If you want the personal touch, with it all homemade then this place is great. We go most weekends and the staff make you feel so welcome and the guys always have time to say hi. They also do crafts and the scarfs that are done by Kevin are wonderful..so you can pick up gifts, homemade chilli jam and have a coffee and cake or breakfast all in one visit.
Beautiful quaint tearoom with unusual gifts to purchase.
A wide variety of cakes to meet all dietary needs!
Maybe it's the items we chose, but the cheese scone, was very floury, the texture wasn't good, the polenta cake was a bit dry,
However the service, atmosphere, presentation, and cleanliness of the cafe was first class!
I loved the teapots and china teacups.
My husband and I popped into this lovely little Tea Room about two weeks ago 😃
He had a (huge) slice of one of the cakes on the dresser. I had the best scone (ever, for me) with jam and clotted cream and we shared a pot of tea.
It would be rude not to go back and have a afternoon tea

Wonderful layout and ambience. Friendly service. Excellent tea and coffee, along with the cheese scone and carrot cake, we'll be back.
I hadn't been to Petals however had heard good feedback. I was looking for somewhere to take my mum on her 90th Birthday and so my partner and I popped in.
We were very pleased with the welcome and returned as a party of 4 for my mum's birthday celebrations.
Very pleased we did.
